Abstract
A roll of bin liners is stored in the base of a bin. The liners are attached but easily separable eg by zigzag weakness lines. The roll preferably spirals about a vertical axis with the bags being drawn up to be used from the centre. The roll is ideally be housed in a compartment below the main body of the bin with a door 1 for access. The liner can be secured to the bins rim by application of an elastic band or by sandwiching between an outer and inner container. There may be a lid covering the bins opening. In use the next bag could be moved to its operating position as the bag it is replacing is removed.
Description
DESCRIPTION
Title: Bin with built in bin bag
Background:
This invention relates to a bin with built in bin bags. Everyone knows the worst part of throwing out the rubbish is having to manually remove the bag and having to get a new one from where they are stored, separate it from the roll then insert it into the inner bin before placing the inner bin in the outer bin. This invention elevates that process.
Statement of invention:
To overcome this, my invention is a new bin design that allows you to insert a purpose built bin bag roll into the bottom of the bin. When you lift out the bin bag, the reel of bags (still attached to the bag in use) is pulled through the holdafl for the bin bags and can easily be separated at the join before securing in place.
Advantages: The insertion of a bin bag roll into the bin frame itself will mean bin bags no longer need storing elsewhere. Having the bin bag inside the bin frame also means less time and energy spend changing the bag.
Preferably the bin bags will be recyclable, and the purpose fit for the bin so that they can be sold as one piece.
lntroduction of Drawings/Detailed Description:
An example of the design will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows the bin roll from a side view, the bin bags will be rolled up in a circular motion from the inner circle outwards until the roll is as wide as the bin. They will be folded so that the height of the bin roll is no higher than 2 inches so that it fits in the bottom of the bin securely and doesn't take up too much room inside the bin.
Figure 2 shows the bin roll from a top/bird's eye view, you can see the rolled up bin bags, on one reel as described above. The bin bags wifi be unreeled from the middle of the role, as shown in the diagram. I would like to ideally have 52 bags on the roll, using the assumption you change a bin bag once a week, this would mean only changing the bin bag roll once a year. But the bin bag roll couldn't be rolled up too tightly, as the bags need to easily by un rolled from the inside of the roll, so if that means there can only be 30 bag on the roll that is still adequate as this means the roll would only need changing twice in the year.
Figure 3 shows the bottom section of the bin, where the opening of the bin bag storage area is. 1 show the flap/door that will be at the very bottom of the bin, this opening will be just under half of the bin's width, as this area wilt need to be able to fit in the bin bag roll. 2 shows the button to open the flap/door. It will be a press to release button that is easy to use. 3 shows the outer bin, it can be versatile to be made in multiple colours and materials, e,g chrome, plastic.
Figure 4 shows the bottom section of the bin with the flap/door open, 1 shows the push to release button from the inside. 2 shows the inside of the bin where the bin bag roll will be placed.
Figure 5 shows the inside view of the bin, with the bag roll in place. 1 shows the flap/door closed where the bin bag roll are inside. You can see the inside of the bin in the diagram, focusing mainly on the top off the bag roll holdall area/the bottom of the bin, in 2 you will see a slightly raised area where the bag will be fed through. lt is raised so that any excess liquids that may come through the bin bag can be captured around the outer, lower section rather than seeping through the hole where the bags come through.
Figure 6 shows the inside side view, 1 being the inner bin that is still essential to be able to remove and clean the bin with ease if need be. The inner bin will also have the raise area with a hole for the bag to come through, and the lower section to capture and liquids. 2 shows the raised section as described previously, 3 shows the bottom section of the bin where the bin roll will be held, 4 shows the outer bin lining.
Figure 7 shows the top section of the bin, you can see that 1 is raised above of 2. 1 is the inner bin and 2 is the outer bin. 1 will be raised so that the bin bag can easily be secured in place without having to then fit it into the outer bin shape. You will also see the inner bin, 1, is curled over at the top to form a lip'. It is designed this way so that when the bin bag is wrapped around the inner bin, the bin bag can be tucked under the lip.
Figure 8 shows a bird's eye view of the inner bin, its circular but there is a slight section (approx 2 inches wide) where the circle is broken and the inner bin is dented in. I shows the circular inner bin, and 2 shows the dent/dip in the circle. The design includes a thick elastic band that is either around the complete circular inner bin or just across the dip/dent section. A complete elastic band may be easier to replace. 3 shows the band going across the dented area. This section is specifically designed so that the when the bag is wrapped around the top of the inner bin the excess can be gathered around the dented area and then tucked into the dented area, with the elastic bad securing it in place.
Figure 9 shows the inside side view again, so that you can see I is the outer bin, 2 is the inner bin, slightly raised compared to the outer bin then 3 is the bin lid which covers the inner bin and fits onto the outer bin.
Figure 10 shows a sub section of the bag roll, showing that the bags will still be separated by jagged lines, but still joined in I roll so that it's all one piece.
Figure 11 represents the motion of changing the bin bag when it's full. 1 shows the hole in which the bags will be fed through from the roU witch is stored in the bottom of the bin. 2 shows the bin bags (still attached on 1 real), when the bin bag needs replacing the excess bag is released from the elastic band and lifted up, the bin bag roll will pull through, when the bag is lifted high enough the filled rubbish bag can be detached from the bin bag roll. This is show in 3. The bag can then be wrapped around the inner bin and fastened in place by the dented area with elastic to secure in place. This process is then easily repeated.
Figure 12 shows a design for the bin lid. The lid needs to be tall enough to cover the inner bin being slightly higher than the outer bin. But apart from that it can be various designs in various colours and materials. This diagram shows the traditional raised at the back but lower at the front lid, 2, with a push button to release the lid.
Figure 13 shows a slightly different idea for the lid. I showing the raised section to cover the raised inner bin, then 2 showing the lid that will be raised and lowered by hand, but the lid will slightly cover the outer bin, so it hangs over' slightly for ease of lifting.
