Abstract

A bed clothes anchoring apparatus comprises at least one fixing, 3 each fixing having a first magnetic member 4 attached to the frame of a bed 2 and a second magnetic member 6 that in use is placed so as to trap an item of bedding 1 between the two magnets. In use, the apparatus provides an easier and more efficient way in which to make a bed which has been slept in.

Description

Bedclothes Anchoring Apparatus This invention relates to improving the making of a bed. After a bed has been slept in, the bedclothes are usually re-arranged in such a way as to make re-making the bed time consuming and physically demanding for some, especially the elderly and/or disabled.

To overcome this, the present invention proposes the use of magnetic fields created by magnets to anchor the bedclothes to a suitable position on the bed frame.

Anchoring the bedclothes ensures that the bedclothes will remain in a suitable position during sleep.

Anchoring the bedclothes ensures that they are positioned at an ideal pre-determined fixed point, from which the bed can easily be re-made.

The bed can be made without tucking in any of the bedclothes therefore the mattress does not have to be lifted.

Having bedding free of the mattress, there is no undue distortion of the mattress and the mattress functions freely, without deformation as intended, and there is more freedom of movement and comfort for the occupant.

Some or all of the bedclothes can be anchored.

There is no possibility of the bedclothes being damaged as if undue force is applied to them the magnets will disengage.

Beds that have to be placed with their side against a wall or in a corner (small rooms), can be made without having the need to move the bed from the wall, except when a change of sheets/bedding is required.

Using the bedclothes anchor can reduce time taken to remake a bed by up to approximately 75%.

As many or as few magnetic bedclothes anchor units can be used to create fixing points in order to achieve optimum anchoring of the bedclothes. At least three anchor units are recommended.

Claims A bedclothes anchoring apparatus using magnetic attraction for rendering an area of said bedclothes upon a bed stationary, while the said bed is being slept in, and for aiding in making the bed after the bed has been slept in.

A bedclothes anchoring apparatus to comprise of one or more units (in accordance with requirements) of two attracting magnets one of which said magnets is affixed to a metal plate which is affixed to the upper surface along the jçjç of the bed base; the other said magnet without support other than magnetic attraction to secure the bedclothes which are between.
