Abstract

A spray booth comprises a roof portion, a floor portion, first and second end portions and first and second side portions together defining a workspace, an air flow generation equipment for introducing a substantially laminar airflow into the workspace in a first direction, and an airflow control vane 130 which can assume a first position parallel to the airflow and a second position (shown) in which the vane crosses the airflow at a predetermined angle. Expectedly, the airflow is unaffected when the vane is parallel to the airflow, and affected when the vane / baffle is at an angle to the air flow. Ideally, air enters a plenum 116 between a ceiling and the roof and subsequently exits to form the laminar airflow. Preferably the movable vanes / flaps are mounted to the ceiling by hinges 132 and operated by a motor. In the second position the vanes create a turbulent airflow which can help paint dry quicker.
