Abstract

A leak stopper comprises a bottom end with a smaller circumference 4 for initial entry into a space where liquid is escaping 4. The middle section of the device 5 may include three or more raised rim levels on the outer surface of the device 9. The circumference of the device increases in diameter from the first level 1 to second level 2 to the third level 3 upwards. Each rim level 9 comprises an indentation underneath 6 for secure fitting or seal to the surface area of leak. The smaller bottom end 4 may be immersed up to the third level 3 into an opening from which liquid is exiting and may be pushed in until the desired tight fit is obtained. The middle 5 and upper spherical part of the device 7 is hollow but the device is one whole complete structure. The stopper may be made from a material which will withstand the pressure and temperatures encountered at deep sea levels.

Description

WATER LEAK STOPPER
Back2round This invention relates to a device that can be used to stop or block liquid escaping under water.
When certain liquids are released under water without adequate treatment to remove them, they can disperse in different directions over a wide area including towards the surface, which can result in pollution affecting plants and organisms living in these bodies of water. The effects can be damaging to individual species and populations and to natural biological communities.
Statement of invention
To overcome this the embodiment of this invention proposes a device which when placed into the opening to which liquid is escaping or flowing outward and upward under water it will enable this to be prevented. Placing means for causing the device to be fitted or placed into position to prevent liquid escaping.
Preferably the device will be comprised of strong resilient material that can withstand pressure and low temperatures at deep sea levels.
Detailed description
A leak stopper which comprises the lowest point [4] with a smaller circumference [4] extending downwards [4] to allow initial entry into a *:m. space that is emitting a liquid [4]. Raised rim levels form part of the device around the surface [9] Raised rim levels [9] which comprise of an : * : indentation [6] under their rim [9]. The indentation [6] can form one connection point to be fitted onto point of leak. The size of the raised : ridged rim [9] can vary depending upon the surface area of leak. Three or * more rim levels [9] form connection points to give a tighter seal as each level is immersed [9]. The diameter of the device expands to a wider circumference from level [1] towards the middle level and upper *....: spherical part of the device [7]. The structure is preferably comprised of * resilient strong dense material at the lowest point of contact [4].The middle [5] and upper spherical part of the device [7] is hollow but are comprised of a strong flexible material to allow it to manoeuvre deeper from rim level [1] up to levels [2] and [3] as required.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims 1 A device for stopping leaks under water comprising the lowest point, Which is the initial point of entry into a space to which liquid or a substance is escaping, preferably comprised of material that is strong and resilient with density enabling smooth guided entry into area of the leak.
  2. 2 A leak stopper according to claim 1, in which provides a lowest point for initial entry that extends downwards from the middle section of the device.
  3. 3 A leak stopper according to claim 2, with a middle section which contains three immersion levels each with a rim comprising of an indentation under each of them, to give a secure fit to the leaks surface area. The middle and upper section of the devices circumference expands wider.
  4. 4 A leak stopper according to claim 3, in which the securing means is provided in two ways, either an indentation under a rim at each level one two and three to form a contact point that can be fitted onto point of leak, Or the device can be pushed more deeply into the entrance to the leak which will become filled by the wider circumference of the device, as it is immersed to the point of the middle and upper wider part of the device providing a tighter fit.A leak stopper according to claim 4, whose circumference expands wider towards the middle and upper part of the device, enabling it to be pushed further into the area of the leak depending on the size of the area to be filled, until a snug fit is obtained up to level three of the device if required.S..... * . *.** * * * S.
