Abstract

A golf club for putting or chipping comprising a club head, a shaft extending from the rear of the club head and lying in a plane perpendicular to that of the club head face and a curved handle portion at the top of the shaft with an extended width. The club may be swung between a user's legs to optimise the advantages of a user's inherent stereoscopic binocular vision.

Description

The Multh.Articulation Projected Stereoscopic Binocular Linear Golf Club (The Binocflne Golf Master) The main innovative functions of the Binocline Golf Master (BGM) are the combination of a) correct use of Stereoscopic Binocular Vision (SBV) and b) limIted wrist articulation when chipping and putting. The club has been designed with forward facing club heads and a distally arcing, broad multi-grip handle for use as a between the legs under swing' club.
Reasoning a) Correct use of Stereoscopic Binocular Vision (SBV) Stereoscopic Binocular Vision (SBV) is an evolutionary concept designed by the genetic code to judge the position, speed and direction of objects around us. At the SBV's optimum use the objects must be viewed directly with both eyes for the central nervous system to assess these relative relationships correctly. Any angular variation from this optimum position of assessment will be error causing.
It is in the opinion of the inventor that existing golf clubs do not allow the optimum use of the SBV because they are designed with a lateral stance and swing in mind. This causes too much error in the function of the SBV. We would not ask a snooker player to play sideways.
When teeing off a lateral stance, or thereabouts, is essential in order to generate the necessary club head speed, via body turn and arm and wrist articulation to impart enough kinetic energy into the ball to achieve the required distance of longer golf shots e.g. 300 yards,150 yards100 yards.
As we approach the target less kinetic energy is required in the ball and more accuracy in its direction, The BinocHne Golf Master's function is in this area of the game of Golf i.e. the short game. The forward facing club head together with the distally arcing, wide grip handle allow correct use of SBV combined with limited wrist articulation.
By changing hand positions on the arced handle the SBV's optimum function can be maintained for varying distances of target aim. The lower down the shaft the grip, the more the golfer's head drops thereby allowing his SBV to focus on the shorter target area. Conversely the higher up the handle the grip, the more the golfer's head lifts and the SBV is more aligned to aim at a more distant target.
The wide grip of the Binocline Golf Master sHows clearer vision of the club head/bail impact area, more than standard clubs. This is due to, uniquely, the hands being separated laterally on the club combined with the forward facing club head free from visual impairment of the critical impact area. These design features further enhance the SBV function.
b) Limited wvlst articulation It is in the opinion of the inventor that existing golf dubs make the control of lower club head speed shots very difficult due to unnecessary articulation of the wrists combined with the lateral swings inherent capability for error. The Binocline Golf Master increases control of slower dub head speed shots in three ways.
1. The efimination of the lateral swing replacing it only with the under swing, the vertical plane of which has much less error when requiring the club face to strike the ball in perfect alignment towards the target.
2. Human wrists can articulate through almost 360 degrees. When both hands are placed together with the normal golf grip this is also the case with huge potential for error in swing plane directional control. The wide handle of the BGM causes splinting of the wrists in varying degrees as the golfer wishes. This gives the golfer greater control and accuracy at slower dub head speeds.
3. Head movement caused by the lateral swing's forced angular vision is almost eliminated, replaced by vertical movement of the eyes only. The curved handle of the BGM allows direct viewing of the target, together with the ball, at varying distances, further reducing error.
Function The Binocline Golf Master (see diagram 1) can be fitted with any degree of club face loft from a putter to a sand wedge and the function is the decision of the golfer whether backing into a bush to chip out, flopping out of a greenside bunker or putting from any distance on the green.
Dimensions and materials Golf clubs, and golfers, come in many and varied sizes therefore the inventor does not consider exact mensuration information necessary for this patent application. Instead the inventor has used a standard golf ball in the diagrams for comparative reference. Similarly the materials of construction are not unique. p
