Foot-rules and like measures.-The ends of a jointed rule 7, 8 are provided with tapered sockets 10 adapted to snap over spring studs 11 for the purpose of retaining the parts in position when the rule is closed. In the case of metal rules, the sockets are replaced by tapered holes.
