Abstract

Disclosed is a combination of a ramp and support frame, the support frame capable of accommodating or supporting a container, such as a flexible bag, such as for manual loading by wheelbarrow. The type of bag supported may be a Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container, F.I.B.C, also known as 'Tonne Bags', 'Bulk Bags' as used in the construction, utilities, and waste industries. The combination may also feature a hook to accommodate bags of different sizes. In a variant embodiment, the frames may be folded around to form ramp barriers (fig.5).

Description

Description
F.I.B.C. Ramp Loader A ramp and support combined to facilitate loading or filling of fibc's using a wheelbarrow directly (See DWG04).
A purpose constructed, low level in relative dimension frame, which is lower in height than the extended fibc which encompasses the fibc. The fibc is folded over the side frames of the device and is therefore secure whether or not the fibc is fitted with lifting loops. The device has loop eye tidies which can be used (See DWG03,DWG04). Recent improvements and changes in fibcs' better quality woven polypropylene, stitching, webbing and more self supporting designs with more health and safety, weight and measures, transportation and handling laws; means all industry standard fibc's are manufactured oversize in height (See DWGO1), 250-300mm or more; therefore extended support is of no use. A low level support gives better, safer access to the contents and for loading, also by default acts as a mechanical aid to avoid overfilling an fibc due to the fibc being secured by folding down to a lesser volume of content.
The device on plan view is three sides of a square, two opposite sides are parallel frames and adjacent to both connecting them is a bar for the ramp (See DWGO2). It is a one piece folding frame with wire bonded ramp ready to use with no adjustments or fixings. It folds away for easy storage or transportation. It is made of strong welded tube or section and creased sheet, gives continuous support to the main two sides of the fibc mouth (See DWGO1, DWGO2). The ramp is hooked on the ramp bar for use of a wheelbarrow directly.
Its simple, strong design and full physical support to two main sides, means mechanical excavator or conveyor loading is also achieved. The three sided design allows close row filling, the next fibc to fill can be located directly up against the last one filled and saves space. An industrial standard width open mouth fibc can be ramp loaded or low level access gained to contents whether the fibc has lifting loops, fork lift sleeves, twin loops or none. Using the any bag' hooks (see DWGO3, DWGO6), any open mouth fibc can be supported sufficiently to ramp load with a wheelbarrow directly.
Its design size dimension in relation to industry standard fibc and the ramp loaders slanted side frames facilitate the fibc in the desired position for low level loading. The slant is 86 degrees (See DWGO1); this also assists a natural gravity fall into position of the two number frames.

Claims (11)

  1. Claims 1. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using a wheelbarrow directly.
  2. 2. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using a purpose ramp.
  3. 3. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using a purpose ramp and wheelbarrow directly.
  4. 4. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's with or without lifting loops, sleeves or straps.
  5. 5. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using a fold down lower level technique over two bar frames.
  6. 6. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using the fold down technique to reduce the volume of the fibc to avoid overfilling
  7. 7. A slanted design which facilitates the folding over technique at the top of the device but accommodates the net plan of the fibc at the base.
  8. 8. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's using a mechanical excavator directly or conveyor directly.
  9. 9. A device which facilitates the loading or access to contents of an fibc at a lower safe level.
  10. 10. A device which facilities the loading of fibc's which can support any open mouth fibc for ramp loading using a wheelbarrow directly.
  11. 11. A device which facilitates the loading of fibc's with loose soil, waste material, debris, industrial, agricultural, or commercial products, produce and material using a wheelbarrow and mechanical excavator directly.
