Abstract

A device for melting wax for making moulds of hands using paraffin wax uses water to melt the wax. A container is provided with a thermostatically controlled heating element (h). In use, water (j) and wax (k) are put in the container, and heated to the required temperature to melt the wax. The water heats the wax in direct contact. A pressure prevention pipe (L) is provided which is placed through the wax to the water below after use and removed before use. When the wax solidifies in the container after use, it seals the water below; when the pressure prevention pipe is removed before the next use it leaves a channel through the wax which allows any steam pressure to escape during melting. The container may be formed from an inner tank (a) and outer wall (b) such that it is cool to touch.

i) Temperature sensor j) Water k) Wax I) Pressure Prevention Pipe 10-12 inches long by half inch to an inch diameter of flexible plastic pipe.
WaxPod This invention relates to a device with a particular method of melting wax, for making moulds of your hands using paraffin wax. The waxpod allows the user to melt the wax inside the unit using water, and then set the unit to a specific temperature that is required to make moulds of the hands using the melted wax in the waxpod.
The WaxPod as the following specifications:
Constructed of steel and plastic, with an inner tank an outside wall.
The WaxPod as a lockable lid.
There is a plastic carrying handle either side of the Waxpod.
Due to the double insulation tank the outside surface is cool to touch.
The heater element is rated at 900 watts, Method 1.5 litres of water is added to the waxpod. The heater element (h) heats the water, 4 kilos of paraffin wax is added to the waxpod. The water heats the wax in direct contact.
The wax is melted using setting 90 centigrade.
The wax is allowed to cool before mould making commences For mould making, thermostat is set to 55 centigrade.
This system would not work without the use of a pressure prevention pipe.
The pressure prevention pipe (pp pipe) is placed through the wax to the water below after use and removed before use.
