Abstract

A hair iron includes upper and lower casings (10, 20, fig.1) defining a grip portion and coupled to each other at a first end with an elastic coupler (75, fig.5)to be pivotable within a certain angular range about the first end. An upper heater block (31, fig.1) extends in a longitudinal direction of the upper casing and a lower heater block (41, fig.1) extends in a longitudinal direction of the lower casing. Within the lower heater block a heater plate 47 is arranged which tilts about its longitudinal axis by the action of elastic bodies 45, so its position in relation to the lower casing can be varied. The lower heating block has a concave heating plate 47.
