Description: CLIP-ON BELT

This invention relates to an item which clips onto the waistband of a garment having no integral belt loops.

This product is designed for any type of trouser, skirt or any other item of clothing such as jogging trousers or fancy dress outfits which do not already have manufactured integral belt loops typically found on jeans for example.

The Clip-On Belt is designed to simply clip on over the top of the trouser/item of clothing using metallic clips which firmly grasps the trouser/item of clothing in between the clip therefore eliminating the necessity for belt loops, the Clip-On Belt can be used with any type of garment and can be fastened in the usual manner i.e. buckle, loops etc. This product would be ideal for those fancy dress outfits where the trouser/flares always come with an elasticated waistband.

The metallic clips will be covered in material and also sewn into the belt material for comfort and aesthetics.

This product may also be used as a normal belt by simply passing through integral belt ioops like those typically found on jeans.

The belt could be made from leather or any other material which would be appealing to the consumer and can incorporate patterns, designs, colours and logos.

Figure 1 shows a general overview of the clip on belt.

Figure 2 shows a cross-section of the belt incorporating the metallic clip.

Figure 3 shows how the belt would clip onto an item of clothing.

In Figure 1 you can see the belt in unit 1 which can be made from various materials, colours and patterns. In unit 2 you can see the clips which secure the belt to the garment by pushing the clips downwards over the material.

Unit 3 shows how the belt could be fastened by way of a buckle for example however this method of fastening can be varied to suit the market.

Unit 4 shows the end/nose of the belt.

Unit 5 shows a belt ioop which holds the end/nose of the belt shown in Unit 4 securely in place for this type of fastening shown in Unit 3. Unit 5 is sewn into the material of the belt shown in Unit 1.

Unit 6 shows the holes punched into the belt material to secure this type of fastening shown in Unit 3.

In Figure 2 you can see the metallic clip in Unit 2 which is sewn into the material of the belt (Unit 8).

Unit 9 shows the opening to the metallic clip in which the garment material is fed into the gap shown in Unit 7.

Unit 1 depicts the main structure of the belt (for example leather) to which the metallic clips shown in Unit 2 are part of.

In Figure 3 you can see the belt Unit 1 along with the clip Unit 2 and how it is fitted to the garment Unit 10 by sliding the clips down over the top of the garment so that it is flush with the top of the belt.

Unit 3 shows the buckle type fastening whilst Unit 4 shows the nose and Unit 6 showing the holes punched into the belt material to secure this type of fastening.

1. Claims: 1. A belt comprising attachment means for attaching the belt to an item of clothing by way of clips.
2. 2. Clips to be an integral part of the belt according to claim 1 and are to be metallic.
3. 3. The belt fastening according to claim I can be used in the usual manner and be of various means for example buckle or loops etc.
