Adding and subtracting apparatus; printing totals and sub-totals.-Relates to the total-taking mechanism of a key set and independently operated machine and consists in the provision of means for printing items in a number of printing positions of a paper-carriage, a totalizer for computing the items, and means set automatically to take a total or sub-total when the carriage has moved to a predetermined position or positions. Manually-set means are also provided for the purpose of taking a total or subtotal at other positions of the paper-carriage. The mechanism described and shown in the drawings is identical with that described in Specification 245,186.
