Abstract
A hand operated manual device is disclosed which uproots hair using a mobile twisted thread 2 (e.g. nylon or cotton) connected to fixed arms 3 which have a thread fitting. The device, which may be mechanically or electrically operated via a compressible button 1, and which may be battery driven, may be used to replace the manual threading technique. The device may be used to remove eyebrow hair or other forms of facial hair.
Description
Description
Threading' is a manual technique most commonly used for facial fine touch hair removal such as shaping eyebrows. Hair is extracted by being caught in the rotational movement of twisted fibres (thread/nylon/ cotton! substitute) thereby uprooting the hair from the root.
The twisted fibres are run over the area where hair removal is required. As a manual technique, two sets of hands are usually required, one pair to stretch the skin taught by pulling in opposing directions, the other to manoeuvre the fibre accurately, as demonstrated on page 4.
Currently, threading is widely used by beauticians in salons and by a small percentage of individuals in their homes.
The patent desired is for any hand-operated, mechanical/ electric (including battery operated) device /tool/ equipment developed to replace the current manual operation of threading using the above process and principle of threading' (with sfring/ thread/ A tool has been developed using the above principle and process for threading. In future it may be possible to improve the shape / size! form of the mechanical device developed, but the principal! process of operation will remain the same ie. A form of twisted string rotated and mobile to uproot hair.
Threading allows the hair to be extracted from the root with reduced breakage of the hair.
It also provides more accurate and fine touch shaping and definition when shaping eyebrows. Unlike tweezing where a single hair is pulled out each time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line; regular even re-growth of hair making maintenance easier. As the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized, threading is an alternative for those with sensitive skin.
It is the preferred method of facial hair removal in the sub-continent, Middle-East, Asia, Africa and many other regions. It has recently become increasingly popular in the UK, Europe and USA.
