Abstract

A gym garment incorporating elastic straps that produces forces against which the wearer must act against when the wearer carries out their normal everyday activities or specific training movements for increased effect. The gym garment may be an all in one suit or separate vest and leggings. The garment may be made from light weight material allowing the garment to be worn under existing clothing. The tension of the elastic straps may be adjusted to increase or decrease the workout provided. The elastic straps may be attached to built in supports at the shoulder, mid body, hands and feet.

Description

THE GYM SUIT
DESCRIPTION
(Refer to Figure 1) The Gym Suit is a garment designed to exercise the muscles of the wearer as he or she moves while carrying out their daily activities. It is made predominantly from lightweight material, allowing it to be worn under everyday clothing with almost total concealment. The user therefore need not interrupt their everyday routine to obtain an effective workout. In addition to this, the suit can be worn during weight or cardiovascular training for added effect.
The Gym Suit can also be made form heavier material, not designed specifically to be worn as an under garment, that provides a more intensive workout.
The Gym Suit comprises a vest and legging, or can be made as an all-in-one outfit.
The main feature of its design is the incorporation of elastic straps into the garment that produces forces against which the wearer must act when either stationary in good posture, or carrying out normal daily movements.
The elastics are located strategically throughout the garment in order to exercise the various muscles of the body. The tension in the elastics can be adjusted to increase or decrease the level of workout provided. The garment does not restrict circulation or bodily functions in any way.
Figure 1 shows the general construction of the Gym Suit. It comprises a body suit with built-in supports at the shoulder (1), mid-body (5), hands (6) and feet (8). The elastic straps (2, 3, 4 and 7), that provides the exerciser', attach to the supports as shown. The figure shows just one of the many support and elastic design arrangements.
The wearer of the suit must constantly work against the tension in the elastics, while carrying out normal bodily movements or specific bodily movements designed to enhance/increase the exercising effects of the suit.
