Abstract

Electrical apparatus (2) comprises a back plate (6) and a faceplate (4) removably engagable therewith. The back plate (6) has one or more first conducting members (34, 36), each with an inner and outer end (30, 32) region. Each inner end region is arranged to be connected to one or more inputs (38,40) carrying electrical signals to the apparatus (2). The faceplate (4) has one or more second conducting members (16) and is arranged to be releasably engaged with the back plate (6) such that in use each second conducting member (16) makes an electrical connection with the outer end region (30,32) of one of the first conducting members (34, 36) on the back plate (6). The faceplate (4) has an internal side (10) adapted to interact with the back plate (6) and an external side (8) forming a user interface. The external side (8) may desirably be formed as a decorative geometric shape or novelty item.
