Abstract

A device for displaying price tickets, display tickets, price graphics or similar is provided with a flexible band A by means of which it may be fixed to a variety of different size and shape display arms as found in stores and other retail outlets. The device further comprises a flexible neck B to which a ticket holder C is attached. The neck is designed such that if knocked it will return to its original position. The flexible neck is preferably positioned to be perpendicular to the display arm. The band may be flexible and adjustable, or rigid and adjustable. The neck may be rotatable and may be locked into a particular configuration.

Ticket holding device for different size display arms This invention relates to a device, which attaches a ticket/graphic holder to a display arm as used in shops and stores to merchandise products.

Attaching a pricing ticket or sale offer graphic to the end or side of a display arm is difficult because display arms are manufactured in different materials, lengths, thickness and design profiles. Each design of display arm also has a different end feature to stop products sliding of the arm or rail.

Further more the ticket holder when placed at the end of the rail, then becomes an obstacle to retrieving hanging product. Whilst there are some designs that utilise hard plastics to accommodate ticket holders, they continually break and can only move in a pivoting action up and down. This may result in injury to the consumer To overcome this, the invention proposes a flexible fixing solution to the display arm, thus accommodating a wide variety of styles and sizes of display arms. The device has a flexible neck, which holds the ticket or graphic in a PVC sleeve, or clear injection moulded casing. Whilst holding it the correct position for consumers to view it also allows it to be moved in all directions and then return to it's original position if knocked.

The neck of the device may be fixed to provide a forward facing solution, the device may also have a rotating part, which allows the neck to turn in 360 degrees, so the ticket, or graphic can be positioned where needed.

The flexible band, which fits a wide variety of display arms, may also have an adjustable component to increase the tension on the display arm for a more secure fixing.

An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1: shows some of the general display arms used in stores at present Figure 2: shows the flexible moulded device with flexible neck (B) secured onto a display arm by stretching the material to fit, the band may have a notch which would locate on to a ball or up-stand on the display arm to help prevent the device turning around the arm. A graphic or ticket is shown in a PVC type ticket holder for reference only Figure 3: shows the flexible device with expandable, flexible band (A) moulded with flexible neck (B) and moulded ticket holder fixing/location device (C) Figure 4: shows a flexible device with expandable band with the neck oriented at 90 degrees to the display arm position.

A flexible band shown in figure 3 (A) is moulded in a very flexible rubber/silicon material. The flexible neck (B) is moulded onto the band in a stiffer flexible rubber/silicon material. The thickness and material composite allows the band to expand and fit various sizes and designs of display arms.

The inherent friction properties of the material will prevent the band from slipping around the display arm. A notch at the top of the band may be moulded to aid its location into the display arms ball bearing or rod stop. The band may be of various thickness, colour and profile to aid the function and appearance of the device.

The device neck figure 3 (B) can flex in all directions, but will return to its original position. The neck may have a serious of design features and/or slots to create the precise flexibility needed.

The neck has a moulded feature figure 3 (C), which will allow the easy fixing of a plastic ticket holder sleeve or moulded case. This may take the form or various shapes and profiles.

Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment in which the band is adjustable.

This may take the form of a band, which has a ratchet device. This may also take the form a flexible band passing through a series of small gates causing the band to grip and remain tight. Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment with a rotating component (0), which will allow the flexible neck (B) to be, turned 360 degrees and locked into a position. The band may have grip points to aid pulling the device over a display arm, these may be moulded into the design or a separate component. The band may be of a flexible or rigid material.

Figure 6 shows an alternative embodiment in which the band is adjustable through component Figure 6 (C). This may be by means of ratchet device or friction fit through a series of small gates or a spring device.

Claims

Claims 1. A display arm graphic holding device that will expand to fit a wide range of display arms. The device will support a display ticket, POS., or price graphic on a flexible neck which will allow a high degree of movement in the event of the display ticket holder being knocked, the ticket holder will then return to its original position.
2. A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the flexible neck is positioned at ninety degrees to the display arm.
3. A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the band, which fixes to the display arm, is flexible and adjustable.
4. A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the band, which fixes to the display arm is rigid and adjustable.
5. A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the neck holding the display ticket can be rotated 360 degrees or less and can lock into a position if required.
6. A display arm graphic holding device in which the band fixing it to the display arm runs though a component which is or holds a neck that comes from underneath the band and supports a ticket holder in front of the arm.
7. A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the component that holds the graphic holder sleeve or case is flexible.

A display arm graphic holding device according to claim 1, in which the component that holds the graphic holder sleeve or case is rigid and slots into a separate component that may need to be glued to the graphic holder sleeve or case.Amendment to the claims have been file as follows Claims 1. A device for attaching a graphic holder to a display arm comprising: a flexible neck for holding the graphic holders, and a flexible and expandable band for securing on a display arm, and formed of a moulded rubberlsilicone material.2. A device according to claim 2, wherein the neck is moulded onto the band.3. A device according to claim 2 or claim 3, wherein the neck is formed of stiffer rubberlsilicone material than the band.4. A device according to any preceding claim further comprising a notch at the top of the band to aid its location on a display arm.5. A device according to any preceding claim wherein the neck has a moulded feature for allowing the easy fixing of a graphic holder.6. A device according to any preceding claim wherein the neck holding the display ticket can be rotated 360 degrees or less and can lock into a position if required.7. A device according to any preceding claim wherein the flexible and expandable band has an adjustable component to increase tension on the display arm.
