Description

1 2456751
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a foot beauty treatment system having a number of therapeutic, ergonomic, safety and convenient features incorporated into a single integrated system.
2. Description of the Prior Art
In the prior art, there are known foot spas providing a variety of heat and vibratory sensations via fluid contained within said foot spas. There are also known foot spas provided with disposable liners to reduce the risk of cross-infection between clients without sanitising the spa between uses.
Generally, common objectives in the prior art relating to foot spas are to provide relief to a person (client) via soothing stimuli, and to sanitise the feet of the client receiving treatment prior to the application of nail enhancement products.
Also in the prior art, there are known nail enhancement product curing lamps providing means to cure nail enhancement products applied to the toenails of clients in the course of pedicure treatment.
Generally, a common objective in the prior art relating to nail enhancement product curing lamps is to provide a controlled delivery of UVA radiation with which nail enhancement products are cured.
however, operation of the prior art foot treatment devices is characterised by poor ergonomics and inconvenience for both therapist and client, requiring the frequent re-location of equipment, therapist and client during the various sequences of treatment processes.
Therefore there exists a need to provide a foot beauty treatment system that enables both therapist (e.g. beautician or nail technician) and client to each remain seated in one comfortable seating position throughout the treatment process where a complete service comprising foot massage, foot spa treatment, nail enhancement product application and nail enhancement product curing may be delivered with maximum comfort and convenience for both therapist and client.
OB)ECTS OF THE INVENTION It is the object of the present invention to provide a foot beauty treatment system that provides support for the foot or feet of a client receiving pedicure treatment.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a foot spa that provides therapeutic warming sensations to aid in the overall relaxation and well-being of the client.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a foot spa that provides therapeutic tactile sensations to aid in the overall relaxation and well-being of the client.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a foot spa that is suitable to retain a removable liner through which it may heat a fluid and transmit therapeutic vibrations to a foot or feet placed within said liner.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a nail enhancement product curing facility positioned to enable a client to place one foot within the nail enhancement product curing facility whilst the other foot is positioned on the foot-rest or positioned within the foot spa.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a removable liner suitable to fit within the foot spa and retain a fluid within, and to enable the convenient removal of said liner for the purpose of disposal of fluid and sanitising of the liner prior to its next use.
It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a removable liner suitable to fit within the nail enhancement product curing facility, and to enable the convenient removal of said liner for the purpose of sanitising the liner prior to its next use.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXAMPLE EMBODIMENT(S)
As illustrated in Figs. 1-10, a foot beauty treatment system, indicated generally in Fig. 1, is shown in accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present invention.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, an upper portion of a housing contains a reservoir forming a foot spa (1.1, 3.2, 6.2) and a lower portion contains a nail gel curing facility (1.2, 2.2). The relative locations of said foot spa and said nail gel curing facility in this particular embodiment enable a client to place one foot within said nail gel curing facility whilst the other foot is positioned on the foot-rest (1.3, 2.1, 3.4) or within said foot spa.
Preferably, said nail gel curing facility has a nail gel curing lamp (4.2, 4.3, 6.5, 7.1, 8.1) located within.
Conveniently, the upper surface of said housing incorporates means (3.1, 6.1) to locate said footrest positioned atop said housing and maintain said footrest in an ergonomically advantageous position.
Preferably, one or more heating elements are located within the spa heater enclosure (6.4) in such a manner as to enable the effective transfer of heat through the floor of said foot spa to fluid contained within.
In a particular construction the bottom wall of said spa heater enclosure (4.1) also forms the upper wall of said nail gel curing facility.
Preferably, a vibratory unit is located within said spa heater enclosure and cooperatively in contact with the floor of said foot spa.
It will be understood that electrical conductors for the supply of electricity to the foot spa heater, foot spa vibratory unit and nail enhancement product curing lamp are connected to the appropriate elements of the foot beauty treatment system.
Preferably, the housing can include one or more controls for the operation of all the functional elements of said foot beauty treatment system. Said controls can be located in any position on said housing thought convenient for the operation of said foot beauty treatment system, and can be implemented in any form thought appropriate.
In an alternative control arrangement for said foot beauty treatment system, a remote control unit is provided for the operation of all the functional elements of said foot beauty treatment system. Said remote control unit can be implemented in any form thought appropriate.
Preferably, a removable liner (9.1) is provided for said foot spa to facilitate the convenient disposal of fluid and sanitising of said removable liner.
Preferably, said removable liner has a raised central portion (9.2) for increased rigidity to aid in the removal and transport of said removable liner containing fluid for disposal.
Preferably, said foot spa has a raised central portion (3.3, 6.3) to support the similarly shaped raised central portion of said removable liner.
Conveniently, said nail gel curing facility incorporates locating features (5.1, 5.2) that engage with opposing features (10.1, 10.2) of a foot-space liner to facilitate the maintenance of a foot-space liner in the desired location on the floor (4.4) of said nail gel curing facility whilst enabling easy removal of said foot-space liner at the appropriate time for sanitising.
Preferably, said housing has mounting points (2.3) suitable for the attachment of castor or locking castor assemblies.
