Abstract

A device for forming groups of cigarettes 4 for packaging in triangular packets has at least one outlet 1 of a hopper 2 for forming groups 3 of cigarettes 4 for triangular packets. The outlet 1 has a number of side by side channels 5, along which the cigarettes 4 fall by force of gravity. Four superimposed layers 7, 8, 9, 10 of cigarettes 4' are formed beneath the channels 5, and define as a whole a substantially triangular group of cigarettes. At each cycle of the packing machine of which the hopper 2 forms part, the layers 7-10 are pushed by a push member into substantially triangular boxes, by which they are fed to the packing line.

DEVICE FOR FORMING GROUPS OF CIGARETTES FOR
TRIANGUL PICKETS
The present invention relates to a device for forming groups of cigarettes for triangular packets.
The invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figures 1. to 3 show three non-limiting elrtbodixnents.
Figure 1 shows an outlet 2. of a hopper 2 for forming groups 3 of cigarettes 4 for triangular packets (not shown).
Outlet 1 comprises a number of (in the example shown, four) side by side, substantially vertical channels 5, along which cigarettes 4 fall by force of gravity.
A Supporting member 6 is located beneath channels 5 to support the cigarettes in the bottom portions of channels 5, and, in the embodiment shown, is step-shaped to form at the bottom of outlet 1 four Superimposed layers 7, 8, 9, 10 of cigarettes 41.

At each cycle of the packing machine of which hopper 2 forms part, layers 7-10 are pushed in known maimer by a push member (not shown) into substantially triangular boxes (not shown), by which they are fed to the packing line.
In the Figure 2 embodiment, outlet 1 comprises a number of (in the example shown, four) side by side channels 5 Sloping with respect to the vertical, and along which cigarete 4 drop by force of gravity.
A Supporting member ii is located beneath channels 5 to support the cigarettes in the bottom portions of channels 5, and, in the embodiment shown, IS V-shaped to form at the bottom of outlet 1 four superimposed layers 7', 8', 9', 10' of cigarettes 4', which respectively comprise, upwards, one, two, three, and four cigarettes, and define as a whole a substantially triangular group of cigarettes 4'.
At each cycle of the packing machine of which hopper 2 forms part, layers 7'-lO' are pushed in known manner by a push member (not shown) into substantially triangular boxes 12, by which they are fed to the packing line.
In Figure 3, outlet 1 of hopper 2 comprises a number of (in the example shown, four) side by side, substantially vertical channels 5. along which cigarettes 4 fall by force of gravity.
A supporting member 6 is located beneath channels 5 to support the cigarettes in the bottom portions of channels 5, and, in the embodiment shown, is step-shaped to form at the bottom of outlet 1 four horizontally side by side layers a, 5,, 9, 10" of cigarettes 4', which respectively comprise, from right to left, one, two, three, and four cigarettes, and define as a whole a substantially triangular group of cigarettes 4'.
At each cycle of the packing machine of which hopper 2 forms part, layers 7"-lO" are pushed in known manner by a push member (not shown) into substantially triangular boxes (not shown), by which they are fed to the packing line.
Channels 5, layers 7, 8, 9, 10, layers 7', 8', 9', 10', and layers 7", 8", 9", 10" may Obviously be other than four in number.

Claims (4)

1) A device for forming groups of cigaretee for triangular packets, characterized by comprising at least one outlet of a hopper for forming groups of cigare5 for triangular packets; the outlet comprises a number of side by side, substantially vertical channels, along which the cigaret fall by force of gravity; a Supporting member is located beneath the channels to support the cigarettes in the bottom portions of the channels, and is step-shaped to form at the bottom of the outlet a given number of Superimposed layers of cigarettes, which comprise, upwards, an increasing number of cigarett8 and define as a whole a substantially triangular group of cigaret; and, at each cycle of the packing machine of which the hopper forms part, the layers are pushed by a push member into substantiajjy triangular boxes, by which they are fed to the packing line.
2) A device for forming groups of cigareete for triangular packets, characterized by comprising at least one outlet of a hopper for forming groups of cigarett for triangu Packets; the outlet comprises a number of side by side channels sloping with respect to the vertical, and along which the cigarettes fall by force of gravity; a supporting member is located beneath the channels to support the cigarettes in the bottom portions of the channeis, and is V-shaped to form at the bottom of the outlet a given number of superimposed layers of cigarettes, which comprise, upwards, an increasing number of cigaret, and define as a whole a substantially triangular group of cigarettes; and, at each cycle of the packing machine of which the hopper forms part, the layers are pushed by a push member into substantially triangular boxes, by which they are fed to the packing line.
3) A device for forming groups of cigarettes for triangular packets, characterized by comprising at least one outlet of a hopper for forming groups of cigarettes for triangular packets; the outlet comprises a number of side by side, substantially vertical channels, along which the cigarettes fall by force of gravity; a Supporting member is located beneath the channels to support the cigareee in the bottom portions of the channels, and is step-shaped to form at the bottom of the outlet a given number of horizontally side by side layers of cigarettes, which comprise an increasing number of cigarete from one side to the other of the outlet, and define as a whole a Substantially triangular group of cigarettes; and, at each cycle of the packing machine of which the hopper forms part, the layers are pushed by a push member into substantially triangular boxes, by which they are fed to the packing line.
