Scoring and marking apparatus.-A marker for card games, especially applicable to the game of bridge, is formed of a tablet a of wood, metal, celluloid &c. in which eight apertures b, c are cut arranged in two rows of four in a row, and which carries on the back thereof eight discs d, d', of metal or other material having around the edge of each the numerals 0 - - 9, these discs being arranged in two rows of four in a row, in such a manner that only one numeral on each disc is oposite to a particular aperture, and each disc being mounted in the tablet by means of a central pivot provided with a knob f by means of which each disc can be turned by hand to bring the numerals successively opposite to the corresponding aperture, and the apertures are arranged in such a manner that the points of the partners on both sides can be read respectively in each pair of apertures in one of the rows and the honours in the apertures of the other row, the tablet being provided on its outer face with four movable shutters g, h, employed to conceal or expose words carried on the tablet to indicate which side holds the games and honours. The marker may be hinged to one or both of two charts i, j, one of which, i, is used to record for each game the partners and the gains or losses and the score of gains or losses for each player, the other chart j summarising the records furnished by the marker as regards honours and points. The charts may be printed on material allowing pencil marks to be wiped out, or printed on sheets of paper built up into blocks or pads.
