Abstract

A method of forming a garment hanger is disclosed. The method includes moulding a hanger body, with a hook boss having an aperture therein, from thermoplastic material. Then the insertion end of a hook, that is cylindrical and has one or more ribs, is heated to at least 200{C. The heated insertion end of the hook is inserted into the aperture in the hook boss. The internal diameter of the aperture is less than an external diameter of the insertion end measured across a rib by at least 0.6 mm and preferably is between 0.7 and 1.0mm less. Ideally the insertion end has a surface area of at least 125mm<2>.
