Abstract

A filtering face-piece respirator comprising a dust mask A with an internal pipe B which fits directly into a user's mouth. Preferably an exhalation pipe C vents exhaled air D away from the user's safety glasses to prevent fogging. The exhalation pipe C may include a check valve to prevent the user from inhaling through the pipe C and an elastic headband G.

DESCRIPTION
Anti-fog Dust Mask Filtering face-piece respirator for single use respiratory protection, which eliminates the fogging of safety eye wear by use of unique mouth piece and exhalation check valve.
This invention was conceived during the use of conventional dust masks', typically used by tradesmen during such work which causes potentially hazardous dust or aerosols. These conventional masks are often used with safety eyewear. The problem with conventional dust masks, and what this invention solves, is that safety glasses often fog. This is due to moist exhaled air, venting from where the mask meets the nose and cheeks of the user, condensing on the safety glasses. This causes a reduction and sometimes complete loss of visibility through the safety glasses. Often the user will remove the glasses because of this and continue with the task. This leaves the users eyes exposed to the risk of foreign object damage.
This invention works similarly to a conventional dust mask, in that the air is filtered by the material of the mask (Protection levels FFPI,FFP2,FFP3). The improvement and unique feature is that exhaled air is exhausted through a mouth piece (Tube) fitted inside the mask which fits directly into the users mouth (figure 1-A).
A valve is fitted in the exhaust pipe which restricts the direction of the air flow (Figure 1-B), ensuring that exhausted air can exit through the tube. Should the user try to inhale through the mouth piece the valve will close and prevent this.
Inhaled air is drawn through the fabric of the mask and is therefore filtered to the required level. I. 2
