Abstract

A feeding manger or bowl fitted with extended metal hooks to prevent the device from being dislodged from gates or fences by feeding animals. The extensions are attached to the regular hooks by means of small bolts or welding. The hook extensions may be shaped to change the hook into a spring fixing.

HORSE FEEDING MANGER
This invention relates to an existing feeding manger.
The feeding manger has been adapted to ensure that a horse is unable to displace the manger thus preventing the wastage of horse feed.
To overcome this, an existing feeder has been adapted by extending the metal hooks attached to the feeder to remain in place, whether on a gate, fence, stable door or similar situation, without tipping or being displaced.
When some horses are fed they knock their feed container over displacing the horse feed widespread over the ground, whether the horse is fed in a stable, yard or field, thus causing much of the feed to be lost and wasted.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:
- figure 1 shows the original feeding manger with the short metal hooks; and
- figure 2 shows the feeding manger with the extended hooks according to the invention.
In figure 1, a semi circular plastic manger I with a small lip around the top edge 2 with the metal hook 3 attached to the top of the straight side of the manger by means of small bolts.
In figure 2, a semi circular plastic manger 1 with a small lip around the top edge 2 with the extended metal spring fixings 3 on the straight side of the manger. The metal hooks may be extended with the spring hooks with by welding or bolts or made as one continuous book including the spring action, thus ensuring the manger remains secure.

Claims (4)

Claims
1. A semi circular plastic manger secured by extended metal hooks.
2. A semi circular plastic manger according to claim 1 secured by means of extended metal hooks with the fixing springs.
3. The semi circular plastic manger according to claim 2 in which the metal fixing springs are fitted securely to the existing hooks by means of small bolts of by welding.
4. The semi circular plastic manger according to claim 3 in which the metal fixing springs are attached to the original hooks by means of weiaing or bolted to existing hooks or by changing the hooks so that the hook is made as one piece incorporating the spring fixing.
