Abstract

244,165. Swift, S. R. Sept. 11, 1924. Thrashing-machines. - In a maize-shelling machine of the kind comprising a cylindrical cage in which rotates a helical beater, the cage, which comprises rods 1 passed through spacing rings 2, is provided with fixed helical members 4 of opposite pitch to the beater, and secured by means of clamps 5 and bolts 6. The members 4 may be made in sections. According to the Provisional Specification, the helix may be of the same pitch as the rotating helix.
