Abstract
A modular plastic fence panel of foam plastic has chevron shaped ends (B) so that a fence may be made up to a desired height as shown. The ends may fit into grooves in a post, or have holes for fixings: the panels may have beading at the base so that panels are separated so as to leave a gap for the passage of air. The shape of the panels assists water drainage. An end fitting is supplied for panels which need cutting to reduce length (A).

DESCRIPTION
MODIJIAR PLASTIC FENCE PANEL This invention relates to a modular plastic fence panel.
Fence panels are generally made from rough-cut timber slats nailed or stapled to a timber framework. They are sold as a fully assembled unit in various heights. There are two main styles on the market one having horizontal slats and the other has vertical. Timber fence panels are however, very labour intensive from assembly, storage, transportation, installation and the panels will also require preservative treatment on regular intervals to ensure they are protected from decay and keep the desired colour.
According to the present invention there is provided a modular plastic fence panel constructed from a structural foam plastic section that can be built up in modules to the desired height.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying in which: - Fig 1 shows the panel in two difrerent styles.
Fig 2 shows the panels in assembled position, with dimensions A&B.
Fig 3 shows the addition end support section used if panel requires cutting to size.
Fig 4 shows the bottom shaped section of the fence panel that allows wind to pass through the panel.
Referring to the drawing the panels are to be produced using a structural foam plastic moulding process (1, Fig 1). The difrerent styles of the panels are shown as 2 & 3. The fixing edges of the panel have slots in four positions each end (4,Figl) to allow fixing to timber fence posts and also provide slots to fix trellis options if desired.
2 DESCRIPTION
The underside of the section (5,Fig 1) provides the support and strength to allow other modules to interlock with each other. The joint section on bottom of the panel is designed (1, Fig 4) to provide a small gap between the modules to allow airflow through the final fence unit.
The angled plastic section on the bottom of the modular unit (5, Fig 1) also allows water to drain off. The top of the moulded panel (6, Fig 1) is also shaped to allow water to drain off panel. An additional end section as illustrated in Fig 3 will be made available to allow panels to be cut to required length if required and fixed into the position within the fence post.
In order to build a modular plastic fence place one unit on top of another until desired height is achieved as in Fig 2 Dim A=183Omm & Dim B=305mm. The width of the fixing edges is such to allow the units to slide into existing slotted posts. However timber fence posts require a screw Ung on every panel.

Claims (8)
1. A modular plastic fence panel comprising of structural foam moulded plastic panel, means of a joint that allows the assembly of fence by placing one panel on top of another. The joint also provides air to pass through the panel. The shaped section top and bottom of the panel allows for water to drain offi It also has end supports that also provide the redng to fence posts.
2. A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 means is provided to allow the customer to choose between Close Boarded or Wancy Edge effect.
3. A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 means is provided by slots in end supports to fix clip in trellis options.
4. A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 3 means is provided by slots in end support to fix panel to timber fence posts.
5. A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 means is provided by half round beads on the underside of base of the panel to give air gap between sections to reduce wind age.
6. A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 means is provided by a shaped top section (6,Fig 1), which eliminates the need for separate capping section.
A modular plastic fence panel as claimed in Claim 1 means is provided by separate end section Fig 3 to allow the option to support cut down panels.
8. A modular plastic fence panel substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings
