Sliding-clasp fastenings.- In fastenings for connecting sheets of fabric &c. of the kind in which a series of interlocking elements on the edges of the parts to be secured together are engaged and disengaged by a sliding member, the fastening elements comprise plates a, Figs. 2 (Cancelled), 4, 5, with grooves b, Fig. 2 (Cancelled). at one side and corresponding ribs at the other side which are adapted to interlock with the grooves of an adjacent plate. The grooves and ribs may be sinuous or may cross one another, or the grooves. b, Fig. 4, with corresponding ribs may be formed in a hook-shaped portion e of the plate, or projections e<2>, f, Fig. 5, may be formed therein; in every case, however, the mutual engagement must take place over the whole width of the plates. To convert the plates to the fabric, the edges of the latter are introduced into slits d in the plates and clamped therein.
