Abstract

The sleeve 1, is made of a heat resistance material which absorbs high temperature expansion, and allows for contracting movements to take place. It is pressed over pipework 2, by having a continuous slot yet still maintaining a positive restraint in a prepared groove in a ceiling joist 3. The sleeve 1 can be colour coded for outflow or return pipes.

Description

CREAK SLEEVE This Invention relates to a Creak Sleeve.
When moderate and high temperatures travel through a cold copper pipe, it will create expansion, resulting in movement, also contracting when temperatures fall again resulting in movement.
Inturn this movement creates an irritating creaking sound, which resonates from ceiling to ceiling.
By fitting a Creak Sleeve in the appropriate positions, the appropriate position is when the copper pipe is suspended by timber ceiling joists, the Creak Sleeve will absorb all expansion and contraction movements, totally eliminates all irritating creaking noises. This device is also designed to be fitted when the copper pipes are entered through the floorboards to supply radiators etc, will again absorb and eliminate all creaking sounds.
The Creak Sleeve is colour coded so that the operator can recognize instantly the flow or the return connections which eliminates confusion of the appropriate pipework connections.

Claims (5)

1) Absorbs totally all movement from heated pipework inwhich expansion and contraction acures, also maintaining a firm restriction.
2) Creak Sleeves are colour coded to ensure that the operator has correct and positive connections, eliminates any confusion.
3) No cutting Apparatus is required minimizing any injury, saves time and giving the operation a professional approach.
4) Minimize the depth of the slot which is required to take the pipework in timber ceiling joists, maintaining the optimum strenght in the timber ceiling joists, when this operation is required.
5) Creak Sleeves are manufactured in a heat resisting and none perishable material, enabling a long lasting effect.
