Abstract

231,035. Kline, F. J. May 14, 1924. Locking-followers.-In a paper fastener or file comprising two tongues 3 on which the papers are filed, a retaining member 6 apertured to receive the tongues and a covering member 9 to secure them in position, the covering member, which is formed with notches 12 and retained in position by ears 11 on the member 6, is displaceable longitudinally to bring the ears and notches out of register and thus lock the members together. The ears may be formed on the ends or sides of the ridged edge of the member 6, and the member 9 may be formed with sloping sides and grooved to receive the tongues. In another modification, the member 6 is provided with side flanges for a portion of its length, instead of notches.
