Description
THE REMOVABLE BUTTON ROUNDABOUT
The button roundabout is a common plsce item usually made of tarmac and painted white. It is a permanent fixture at road junctions of three c,r more exits.
According to the present invention it is a roundabout with a similar appearance to existing buttor roundabouts. It is of a segmental construction made of rubber and it may be locked together using keyways or n rope and eye fixing.
For a more permanent fixin it can be bolted or bonded to the existing road surface.
The typical uses for the removable button roundabout would be 1. During periods of time wkem work is being carriod out on a traffic light controlled ju ctio@.
2. To bring some order traffic movement on a temporary out of order traffic
lighted junction.
3. Temperary car parks, at rallies, fetes etc.
4. tor Driving schools or any other obvious arplication.

Figure 1 shows the basic roundabout in plan.
Figure 2 shows the extended roundabout.
Figure 3 shows a single segment indicating one example of an interlocking keyway.
Figure 4 shows a cross section of a standard segment.
Figure 5 shows the rope and eye method of fixin.
@e roundabout is to be made segmental for ease of handling/storage ana transprtation eg. a police car boot, wagon or other similar vehicle.
The roundabout is place piece by piece into the position necessary to control the junction. Then it is held together by key pieces which could vary in shape depending on nanufacture.
The roundabout can be varied in size depending on the size of the segments manufactured and could even have additional segments made to lock into place around the original button roundabout . The roundabout would be accompanied by road signs to be placed on each approach road to warn traffic of a change of use.
The roundabout could be made in various colours or chevroncd with arrows for easy visibility.
Claims (3)
1 A removable button roundabout comprising of a number of segments forming a complete circle. Locked together by various shaped keyways or rope and eye fixings. It is made of hardwearing rubber to withstand vehicular assault on a regular basis.
2 h removable button roundabout as claimed in claim 1 which can be permanently fixed to the road surface if desired by bolts or adhesive.
3 A removable button roundabout as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 with additional segments which can be added to increase the overall diameter of the roundabout depending on application.
