Abstract

A device for attachment to a file cover to achieve a rectangular profile comprises a U-shaped member 2,3 having spring clips 4,5.

Description

Stationery file stabilisation device.
This invention relates to a stationery file stabilisation device.
Stationery files are well known items which are used to store documents.
Stationery files are available in a range of sizes and consist of a front and back cover between which documents can be held by various methods such as a lever arch clip. Stationery files do not lend themselves to controlled free standing as the covers either splay out or collapse in on themselves.
According to the present invention there is provided a stationery file stabilisation device comprising a one piece item formed in such a way as to provide a rectangular bar with two sides of approximately half the length of the rectangular bar coming down at 90 degrees from either end. Spring clips extending down from both upper inside corners are also included in the design. These spring clips are slightly shorter than the sides and are formed in such a way as to give a tension grip when the covers of the file are pushed onto the spring clips.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the plan elevation.
Figure 2 shows the front elevation.
Figure 3 shows the invention being offered up to a typical stationery file.
Figure 4 shows the invention in position on a typical stationery file.
Referring to the drawings the invention comprises a one piece item formed in such a way as to provide a rectangular bar 1 with two sides 2 & 3 of approximately half the length of the rectangular bar 1 coming down at 90 degrees from either end. Spring clips 4 & 5 extending down from both upper inside corners are also included in the design. These spring clips are slightly shorter than the sides and are formed in such a way as to give a tension grip when the covers of the file are pushed onto the spring clips as shown in Fig 4.

Claims (3)

  1. Claims
    1A stationery file stabilisation device that attaches to a stationery file and gives the stationery file a rectangular profile which facilitates free standing or vertical stacking of the stationery file.
  2. 2 A stationery file stabilisation device as claimed in claim 1 wherein a rectangular profile is provided by the fixation of a rectangular bar the same width as the spine of the stationery file to which the stationery file stabilisation device is to be fitted.
  3. 3 A stationery file stabilisation device as claimed in claim 1 or claim
    2 wherein attachment of the rectangular bar to the stationery file is provided by the inclusion of two spring clips positioned at 90 degrees one at either end of the rectangular bar.
