Abstract
A lifting device comprises a first hollow elongate section with a flat plate welded to one end and extending perpendicularly downwards from it. A second, slightly larger, hollow elongate section telescopes from the free end of the first section. A second flat plate is pivoted to the free end of the second section and extend downwards from it such that the two plates act to clamp two sides of an object to be lifted. A handle is fixed to the pivoted plate and extends above and substantially parallel to the elongate sections. The separation of the plates can be fixed by pins which engage with co-operating holes in the small and larger sections. The pivoted plate is restricted to pivot from a position substantially normal to the elongate sections to a position, towards the other plate, where it is at 75{ to the elongate members.
Description
The single action manually operated lifting tool is designed to transport materials quickly and safely. It comprises two mild steel holding plates chamfered at the bottom, located at each end of non-separating square hollow section mild steel tube, which is telescopic to allow linear adjustment, and secured with a non-slip mild steel pin on the top of the hollow section located on a quick and square release handle.
One plate is fixed rigidly to the hollow section with a secure weld, whilst the other is welded to a hinge and pull handle located at the other end, with a securing bolt within the square hollow section. The hinge design restricts the plate fro moving outwards beyond 900 and inwards beyond 75".
She handle, on lifting, moves the plate inwards, creating a clamping effect on any naterials placed between the plates.
The naterials can then be lifted and transported safely.
Claims (11)
1. A manually operated lifting tool Single Action telescopic design, with
end plates and handle, alligned internally for clamping action.
2. A liftin tool with recessed neck locating pin on telescopic section
for holding safety when under load.
3. A lifting tool with hinge designed to restrict clamping movement.
