Abstract

A plaster for the treatment of plants comprises a waterproof plaster with a lint portion impregnated with chemicals. The plaster may be placed directly onto a plant so that either weed killer or plant fertiliser can be administered locally.

Description

PLANT PLASTERS This application refers to a process which can be used either to selectively administer weed killer or plant fertiliser.
Weed Killer Application There are clear environmental problems in the application of weed killers. In addition the application of weed killers is often difficult and time consuming. Weather conditions are also likely to diminish the effect of the weed killer.
The plaster used is of the ordinary water proof type. As such it is not damaged by rain.
The weed killer used is commercially available and is used in a concentrated form. It is applied to the lint part of the plaster.
It is proposed that the plasters are available in various sizes to "fit" the thickness of the shrub or weed.
The plaster is then applied to the plant and left. The weed killer is then concentrated on the specific plant with no affect on the surrounding plants.
Fertiliser Application The fertiliser is applied to the plaster in a similar fashion. Once again it has the advantage of concentrating the action on the particular plant and not wasting or spreading the chemical. A further variation would be to use a slow release fertiliser to provide continual release throughout the growing season.

Claims (1)

1. The technique involves the use of waterproof plaster with the lint impregnated with concentrated chemical.
2 It is claimed that this means only the specific plant concerned is affected. As such it is environmentally friendly and does not affect the surrounding area.
3 It is claimed the technique is not affected by weather and can be used to effectively administer any chemical.
4 Various sizes of plaster can be used to suit the plant concerned.
5 The process uses standard waterproof plasters and standard chemicals.
6 It is claimed that the plasters can be easily attached to the plant and no preparation of the chemical is necessary.
