Abstract

A guitar ring pick Fig.2. consists of a ring that one should put on the middle section of one's middle finger and a flexible shaft that comes out of vertically from the outer surface of this ring. The ring should be fixed firmly on a finger in order to avoid it's rotation at the time of performance. After adjusting the ring to the finger a hand should be contracted into a fist and the shaft will come into vertical position to the strings. To produce a continious strumming one should swiftly move the shaft up and down the guitar strings.

Description

GUITAR RING PICK This invention relates to a guitar ring pick.
There is a variety of guitar picks for lead and rhythm playing. The rhythm playing is mostly conducted with the thin picks that are made of different materials. These picks should be held with a thumb and an index finger.
This makes it difficult to use other fingers and prevents a performer from using other fingerstyle playing techniques during the performance.
Moreover, in case of frequent and intensive usage these picks tend to wear out quickly and I or break easily.
The present invention, a ring-shaped pick designed to be worn on a middle finger, completely releases one's hand and, as a result, enables one to use all the fingers or a conventional pick in addition. Moreover, it's vary flexible shaft makes it long-lasting. Finally, this pick enables to enhance a playing speed as much as three times.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of examples with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective, the ring pick alone and on a middle finger.
Figure 2 illustrates the ring pick made from one solid peace of plastic.
Figure 3 shows an adjustable version of the ring pick.
Figure 4 shows the ring with replaceable shafts that vary in diameter.
Referring to the drawing (see Fig. 1) a guitar ring pick of the right size is mounted on to the middle part of a middle finger (2), the hand is then contracted into a fist and the pick is directed downwards being perpendicular to the guitar strings.
The ring pick can be easily prepared by pouring the melted nylon into an appropriate mould. It is one solid peace of nylon that consists of a ring (which should be put on one's finger) and a shaft that stretches out vertically. The latter enables one to produce a continuous strumming that is very difficult to achieve with a conventional pick.
One possible version of this ring pick is an adjustable pick that would easily fit fingers of different sizes (Fig.3). After putting the ring on a middle finger, one should pull a loose end of the jagged belt (1) until the part of this belt (3) will be firmly fixed inside a lock (2). Because the loose end of this belt can cause some inconvenience during the playing one can cut it off immediately after adjusting the belt on the finger.
Finally, one may have separate rings (Fig.4.1) to fit different finger sizes (just as in case of ordinary rings) and separate shafts (Fig.4.2) that may very in thickness. These shafts can then be screwed on to the ring.

Claims (5)

1 A guitar ring pick consists of a ring that one should put on his or her middle finger and a flexible shaft that protrudes vertically from an outer surface of this ring and enables one to strum continuously on the guitar strings.
2 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 is made of one peace of nylon by pouring the melted nylon into a mould.
3 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 can be adjustable. It may consist of a flexible belt with a jagged surface on its loose end and vertical shaft on a hollow "lock" on the other end. In this 'lock" there are cogs that come into direct contact with the ones of the loose end of the belt and, as a result, the ring will be firmly adjusted on one's finger.
4 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 may alternatively consist of separate ring of different sises and shafts of various thickness that may by screwed on each other.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1 A guitar ring pick consists of a ring that one should put on his or her middle finger and a flexible shaft that protrudes vertically from an outer surface of this ring and enables one to strum continuously on the guitar strings.
2 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 is made of one peace of plastics by pouring, for example, the melted nylon into a mould.
3 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 can be adjustable. It may consist of a flexible belt with a jagged surface on its loose end and vertical shaft on a hollow "lock" on the other end. In this "lock" there are cogs that come into direct contact with the ones of the loose end of the belt and, as a result, the ring will be firmly adjusted on one's finger.
4 A guitar ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 may alternatively consist of separate ring of different sizes and shafts of various thickness that may by screwed on each other. Alternatively, to make a ring pick more adjustable it may have a cut on the ring that will enable one to stretch it on the fingers of different sizes.
5 A modified version of the ring pick as claimed in Claim 1 is a traditional triangle-shaped pick with a shaft for super fast strumming on one of its angles which is made of one peace of plastics by pouring it into a mould.
