Abstract

A low voltage transformer which has a bayonet Edison screw fitting attached directly to it which will enable a low voltage bulb or fitting to be fitted to a standard high voltage lamp outlet. Various embodiments are proposed including one embodiment having lamps built in on the transformer part and a further embodiment having several lamps arranged along a horizontal bar member.

Description

Bayonet Low Voltage Transformer (or any type of bulb fitting) This
invention relates to a low voltage transformer 1) Low voltage transformers are commonly used in domestic and commercial lighting (Fig. 1). The low voltage transformer is usually a separate component that has to be wired into the 240 volt main, by an electrician, then the low voltage transformer has to be wired into the new light unit which in turn means such a unit can be difficult, time consuming and expensive to fit.
2) According to my invention the low voltage transformer (Fig. 2) will have a BC bayonet or ES Eddison screw attached directly to the low voltage transformer.
3) The low voltage transformer will then be adapted to take a low voltage bulb (Fig. 3) or bulbs (Fig. 4), which will create the first low voltage bulb that, can be connected directly to a 240 volt light f sting.
4) The low voltage transformer will also become the centerpiece of a whole range of low voltage light fittings that can be installed as easy as exchanging a bulb. r

Claims (5)

  1. Claims 1) A low voltage transformer, which has been adapted so it can be
fitted instantly by anyone who can change a light bulb (Fig. 2).
  2. 2) A low voltage transformer as in claim I wherein a low voltage bulb or bulbs can be fitted directly to it (Fig. 3 & 4).
  3. 3) A low voltage transformer as in claim 1, which then has decorative arms attached to it and low voltage bulbs (Fig 5).
  4. 4) A low voltage transformer that has a horizontal fitting attached to it. And low voltage bulbs (Fig. 6).
  5. 5) A low voltage transformer to attach to any bulb fitting including an Eddison screw fitting.
