Abstract

A handheld bingo scanner comprises a plastic handle and an infra-red scanner. The scanner may be used to allow a member of staff to scan the bar code on a bingo card or ticket. The barcode provided on the bingo ticket is preferably used to identify a winning ticket and take the place of the authorization number. Optionally, the information scanned by the decoder can be transferred straight to a computer.
