IDENTIFICATION BAND
The invention relates to a self-coiling identification band which presents information relating to the identity of the person wearing it.
Identification bands are well known but are either not effective, comfortable or fun for children to wear.
An object of this invention is to provide an effective identification band that children will want to wear.
Accordingly, this identification band provides a self-coiling metal band contained within a colourful and durable canvas material bearing information relating to the identity of the person wearing it.
The identification band is designed to wrap securely and comfortably around a child's wrist, ankle or article of clothing and presents information to facilitate the child's return to its parents/guardians should he/she become lost. The canvas material would essentially be durable and brightly coloured for maximum visibility.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 shows the two main components of the identification band; FIGURE 2 shows the top side of the identification band; and FIGURE 3 shows the underside of the identification band.
As shown in Figure 1 the self-coiling metal band 1 is contained within the canvas material 2. The metal band 1 is inserted into the canvas material with the concave side corresponding to the top/outer side of the identification band. After insertion the two ends 3 of the canvas material 2 are heat-sealed or stitched to close them.
Figure 2 shows the top/outer side of the identification band where the canvas material 2 displays the company logo 4 and states that this is and "identification" 5 band. It also details the company web site address 6.
Figure 3 shows the underneath/inner side of the identification band which presents information relating to the identity ofthe person wearing it 7.
The identification band can be put in place by administering a gentle tap with the band at the place where it is to be worn e.g. around a wrist or ankle. For articles of clothing e.g. belt loops or dungarees, the uncoiled/straight identification band should be slid through the loop or attachment and then allowed to coil by pressing one end of the underside of the band thereby releasing the coiling mechanism.
Claims (4)
