Abstract
A rifle/firearm security cable which is insertable in to the muzzle/barrel of the rifle d, comprises a plastic coated, multi-cored steel cable b, a nipple end c which is inserted in to the muzzle/barrel, and a ball/shaped end a, made from metal, plastic or roughened material and which is characterised by being too large to be inserted in to the muzzle/barrel of the rifle d. The nipple c of the security cable is inserted through the muzzle of a rifle and can exit from the open action of a rifle, before being locked to a secure point (eg. within a car, room or gun rack) with a shackle padlock h. An arrangement is also disclosed whereby, after insertion into and exit from the rifle, the cable can be used in conjunction with a zipped g rifle carrying case e, so as to permit both the cable and the case to secured f.
Description
RIFLE SECURITY CAElLE This invention relates to a rifle security cable:
The firearm security cable for rifles is a plastic coated, multi-cored steel cable with a ball or plurality of shapes and sizes made of metal, plastic or tough material fixed to one end and a nipple fixed to the other end.
The rifle security cable fits all breach-loading metallic cartridge rifles and fixes the rifle to a secure point in a car or hotel room, being locked with a close shackle padlock.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings and in which: Figure 1 Illustrates the rifle security cable and its component parts a. the metal, plastic or tough material, b. the multicored plastic coated cable and c. the nipple crimped to the cable.
Figure 2 Illustrates the rifle security cable a., b. and c. inserted into a sectioned and hatched rifle d. at the muzzle and out through the open action of the rifle.
Figure 3 Illustrates the rifle security cable a., b. and c. inserted into a rifle that is shown enclosed in the outline of a carrying case e., generally used when a firearm is transported away from home.
The cable b. passes out through the carrying case e. at the point to where the zip f. closes. The cable b. can be passed through the eyelet of the zip opener g. for added security. The cable b. is inserted through a secure point f. and locked with a close shackle padlock h. a
Claims (5)
