Abstract
A guitar stand has a collapsible A frame chassis 6,7,10, lower guitar body support arms 8, and a height-adjustable upper guitar body support 2. The stand allows a guitar to be supported with its strings facing the stand (see fig 7) and without the strings or the guitar neck being in contact with the stand.

Description
This invention relates to a F orward or Reverse Mountable Guitar Stand.
Guitar stands are well known devices to rest your guitar in. Secured or unsecured to the stand. Traditionally with the strings facing away from the guitar stand (guitar position only/figure 6).
If however you want to rest your guitar the other way (guitar position only/figure 7) the neck wlil touch the front side of the stand resulting in string and fret damage.
According to the present invention the Forward/Reverse Mountable Guitar Stand has a single piece of shaped steel rod covered in rubber and plastic tubing called the 'Guitar Body Support' (figure 4). The 'Guitar Body Support' (fig4) allows any guitar to rest with strings facing inwards to (figure 7) or strings facing outwards from (figure 6) the Forward/Reverse Mountable Guitar Stand. The guitar thus being supported solely by it's own body's front (figure 7) or rear (figure 6) face. Eliminating contact to any part of the Forward/Reverse Mountable Guitar Stand being made by the strings or neck of the resting guitar. Thus eliminating all string and fret damage.
And provide for a far quicker method of changing guitars within a musical performance. A guitar body's rear face is always nearest to a guitarist when being played. Thus if a resting guitar is rear facing (figure7) changing guitar during a performance is much quicker.
This is the integral part of the invention, the 'Guitar Body Support' (figured), it is able to be raised and lowered and locked into position via the locking nut (4) and height adjuster (3) to accommodate all models of electric/acoustic guitars and electric basses.
The chassis (figures) is of a commonly used collapsible 'A' frame with tubular feet construction. The lower guitar supports are made of shaped mild steel rods and welded to the chassis legs (7) and then covered in plastic (8) and rubber (9) tubular protective sleeves.
The stand is in two pieces and can be separated and collapsed for easy packing or transportation. (Figures 3+4).
