Abstract

A system is provided for forming a hermetic seal between a door or window wing frame and an associated main frame of a closure. The system comprises a radiused corner sealing portion adjacent a first face of the wing frame and a mating radiused corner sealing portion adjacent a respective face of the main frame. Right angled corner portions provide sealing of the frames adjacent the other face of the wing frame. The radiused corner portions may be provided as inserts and may be fitted to extruded material forming the main or wing frame. The system is reusable and may be retro fitted to existing closures.

Description

A method by which a barrier at an opening of regular or irregular
dimension can be sealed to prevent the passage of a liquid or gas through said opening.

The system can be actuated quickly manually or automatically and is reusable. It can also be retro fitted to existing system. Double,E,lazeA doors, which are currently made out of extruded materials can not be made to be hemneticallv sealed due to the method of making the comers (as shown in the attached drawing).
The specially designed corners, which can be fitted to the extruded material, permit the door and its surround to fomm a hermetically sealed unit.

The ability of this system to create such a seal is what ryes it unitize the system can be operated in both high and low temperatures. One unit can be modified to differing openings and operations depending on the requirement.
    An example would be that of a standard Double-olazed door and frame i>ue to ale dvol being of extruded material it is impossible to create any from of seal at the comers which would be hermetically sealed.
    With the specifically designed comer unit this can be inserted to make the door into an helr.e,icaIly sealed unit.
