Abstract

This invention relates to the collection / modification and retrieval of entries for a mobile phone phonebook on an online database. These entries can be viewed, modified, sent and retrieved using either an Internet enabled device or / and a wireless mobile device, utilising the Internet or wireless networks via SMS.

Background:
This invention relates to an online database of mobile phone book contacts.
The Problem Mobile phone contacts are stored on a SIM cam, and if this SIM card is unavailable (either through He mobile phone not having Sufficient battery power, the mobile phone is lost' destroyed or stolen), there is no updbeable, online, stooge facility fiom which this information can be relieved.
Online websites that contain a database of mobile phone numbers currently exist.
However, the problem with such directory Abases is Hey only contain the contact mobile phone number for each individual within the directory. In this way, Hey act like any over 'volunteered information' directory. They do not contain a dispose database of mobile phone contacts for each individual.

Using an Interpret enabled device, a user can view a specific online database of mobile phonebook contacts (E), Trough the requested retrieval of information from a database back to He Intemet enabled device, as shown by the direction ofthe arrow.

Technical descnption: Once the user has logged in, as described in Drawing 1, they would be presented with an Intemet page who the option to send a mobile phonebook contact to a wireless mobile device. By selecting this option, the user would be presented with a list oftheir contacts. Though a method of selocHon (e.g. checkboxes), one or more contacts would be highlighted. The user would then be able to designate which wireless mobile device would be receive tbe mobile phonebook contact. On finishing and sending the form, the relevant data is manipulated in the online database, and translated into an SMS (short menage service) message, and sent to the relevant wireless mobile device.
Drawing 5 As shown in Drawing 5, a mtebss mobile device (D) can send a mobile phonebook contact to He online database (13) via SMS technology (J) .
Technical description: The user selects a mobile phonebook contact from their wireless
mobile device. The Her would then send the desire wireless mobile to a predesignated telephone number. On sending the mobile phonebook contact to this telephone number, the mobile phonebook contact would be manipulated and added to the onilne database, by

Drawing 6 As shown in Drawing 6, a wireless mobile device (hi) can relieve a mobile phonebook contact (or contacts) from the online database using SMS technology.
This can be achieved by the Ageless mobile device sendmg a SMS request to Me online database (K).
Utilising the infonnation contained in Me SMS request, the online database will then select a Reticular contact and said Me infonnation as a mobile phonebook contact back to the wireless mobile device using SMS (1).
Technical description: The user would require and request a mobile phonebook contact
from their data content held on Me online database. This would be achieved by sending an SMS message from the wireless mobile device to a predesignated telephone number.
When the message is received, it would be manipulated by firstly recognising the telephone number of the wireless mobile device that originated the message. This would allow Me onlir database to search all the mobile phonebook contacts that belonged to the telephone number of the wireless mobile device that originated Me message. The online database would den try to match We content ofthe message to a stored mobile phonebook contact on the databac (e.g. sfthe message was Maul Jones', the online database would be able to select Me relevant mobile phonebook contact details of Paul Jones). On achieving a match between supplied content md a mobile phonebook contact, the database would be manipulated to send Me relevant mobile phonebook contact back to Me wireless mobile device that onginated Me message using SMS. If no match were achieved. the message Rom the online database would notify the wireless mobile device of lhc negative search result.
Drawing 7 As Sharon In Drawing 7, a wireless mobile device (D) can deleh: a mobile phonebook contact fiom the online date using SMS tecluology. This can be achieved by the wireless mobile device sending a SMS request to the online database (M). Utilising the infonnation confined in the SMS request, the online He would then delete a particular <:onta:t and send a confirmation message back to the wireless mobile device using SMS (N).

Technical description: The user would require an amendment of a particular mobile

designated telephone number. When Me message is received, it would be manipulated by firstly recgnising the telephone number ofthe wireless mobile device that originated die message. This would allow the online database to search all the mobile phonebook contacts that belonged to the telephone number of the wireless mobile device that onnated the message. On achieving an amendment ofthe requested content, the I dataha.;e would be manipulated to send a notification message confirming the amendment i back to Me wireless mobile device that ongmated the message using SMS. lf no match and amendment were achieved, the message fiom the online database would notify the I wireless mobile device of the negative search result.

    I An online database of mobile phonebook contacts, in which individuals are able to view, add, amend and delete mobile phonebook contacts online.

    fielded option of the user being able to utilise an Internet-enabled device to send an EMS
    mobile phonebook contact to a wireless mobile device.
  3. 3 An online database of mobile phonebook contacts, as claimed in C: laim 1 or Claim 2, with the Shied option of the user being able to use a wireless nubile device to send u mobile phonebook contact to an online database.
  4. 4 An online database of mobile phonebook contacts, as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, with the Gilded option of the user being able to use a wireless mobile device to retrieve a mobile phonebook contact from the online database.
