Abstract

A skateboard comprises a board 1 having an aperture 2 in the centre of the board. A single wheel 3 is fixed to the centre of the board so that the wheel protrudes through the aperture and is held in place by an axle 7 and supporting arms 6 fixed to the underside of the board so that the wheel may turn freely. Preferably straps (4, 5 fig 3) are provided to hold the feet on the board.

MONO- BOARD
The Invention relates to a mobile recreational board for use on hard or soft terrain including a central axle supporting a single wheel The wheel being of plastic hub and inflatable/ rubber tyre construction The invention provides a more manoeuvrable base on which to perform freestyle actvhes than other multiple wheel products on the market The invention supports an Individual who stands on the upper surface By means of a slope or some form of propulsion the Invention cames the board rider over hard or soft terrain allowing the rider to perform freestyle Jumps and turns A board including a central aperture and fixed axle which supports a wheel protruding from both the tipper and underside of the board The board may be of metal or wood construction The upper surface may be covered with a high grip material and include 2 foot straps.
A preferred embodiment ofthe invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing In which Fig I shows a plan view Fig 2 shows an underside view F,g3showsasdevew Fig I shows the deck I Including a central aperture 2 within which a wheel 3 Is located 4 and are foot straps Fig 2 shows the underside of the deck I on which an axle 7 supports a wheel 3 The axle 7 Is then mounted either end by brackets and support struts 6 which are fixed to the underside of the deck I Fig 3 shows a side view with the central wheel 3 visible through the aperture from the upper and lower side of the deck 1 which has upturned ends.

    I A mono wheeled board compusmg a central aperture through wh ch the wheel protrudes and is fixed by an axle on the underside of the board surface, so as to allow the wheel to spin freely 2 A board as claimed m clann I where the upper surface includes two toot straps either side of the central aperture 3 A board as claumed In claim 1 mcorporat2ng hvo underside supports (including axle mounts) spanning the board In fine with the central aperture A board as claimed m any preceding claim that has a wheel centrally fixed via an axle and axle mounts located on the underside of the board 5 A board as cla med m any proceeding claim which is made from plastics wood or metal, or from a comb2nat20n of these materials.
    6 A mono board substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
