Abstract

A frame comprising of several pieces of wood formed into two rectangular forms joined at an angle to fit into a corner formed by two adjacent walls. The framework may also be constructed so as to fit around a projecting corner. The framework may be stretched with a canvas to receive artists' work.

Description

This invention relates to corner canvas paintings.
Canvas paintings are well known, to be displayed pieces of art and like all paintings they are usually hung on a flat, straight wall.
The canvas is stretched over a framework.
The framework is made up of four straight pieces of wood, which are joined together to form a flat square or rectangle.
According to the present invention there is framework, that canvas paintings will stretch over, that will be made up of seven pieces of wood.
The seven pieces will be adapted to form a 45-degree corner.
The framework will form a corner, square or rectangle.
Different lengths of wood will be used to form the shapes to the required height and length.
The canvas is stretched over the framework and attached.
When the canvas is stretched and attached to the inside of the framework, it will form a painting that can be hung IN the corner of walls When the canvas is stretched and attached to the outer side of the framework it will form a painting that can be hung AROUND the corner of walls.
Different shaped, corner framework, can be made using different amounts of wood.

This will make a range of shapes that hang flat against a wall.

Claims (9)

  1. I A framework that comprises of several pieces of wood. Depending on the shape required.
    The edges of the wood are cut to form a 45-degree angle.
    The different shapes formed and put together on a 45-degree angle will now fit into or around corners of walls.
  2. 2 A corner framework as claimed in Claim I wherein artwork produced on canvas material, is
    stretched over the framework and attached.
  3. 3 A corner framework as claimed in Claim I and Claim 2 wherein artwork produced on any other material can be attached.
  4. 4 The corner framework as claimed in Claim I wherein the supporting piece on the 45 degree angle can be straight or round.
  5. 5 The canvas material as claimed in Claim 2 can be attached by a sleeve means which will slide over the round supporting piece as claimed in Claim 4.
  6. 6 The material as claimed in Claim 3 wherein attached to the framework on the inside will fit into a corner of a wall.
  7. 7 The material as claimed in Claim 3 wherein attached to the framework on the outer side will fit on the outside of a corner of a wall.
  8. 8 The framework as claimed in any preceding claim, can be adapted to suit any shape or size.
  9. 9 A corner framework for artwork substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawings.
