Abstract

A pair of trousers with a waist section 2 having a plurality of fingers 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B extending down therefrom and panels 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B sewn between the fingers thereby forming the legs of the trousers. The waist section 2 may have two pairs of fingers 4A, 4B and 5A, 5B extending from the waist section, preferably running down the front and rear of each trouser leg. Two panels 6A, 6B and 7A, 7B may be sewn between the fingers 4A, 4B and 5A, 5B respectively to complete the trouser legs. The waist section and fingers may be integrally formed and have a zip fastener 3 at the front. Alternatively each leg of the trouser may be formed with three or more fingers extending from the waist section and three or more panels sewn between the fingers.

Title : Novel Trousers nusets The present invemion relates to a novel pair of trousers.

Most pairs of trousers are formed from two principal panels of material sewn together such that a seam is created on either side of each leg.

The invention seeks to provide a pair of trousers of an alternative construction.

According to the present invention there is provided a pair of trousers fonned from a waist section having a plurality of fingers extending down therefrom and panels sewn between the fingers.

Preferably two pairs of fingers extend from the waist section, two fingers of one pair running

down the front and rear of a left leg, and two fingers of the other pair ntnning d < ! wn the front and rear of the right leg, and two panels being sewn between each pairs of fingers to complete the trouserlegs.

Referring to the drawings there is shown a pair of trousers 1. The trousers 1 have a waist section 2. Waist section 2 has a zip fastener 3 at the front thereof Two pairs of fingers 4A, 4B and 5A, SB extend from the waist section 2 and are integrally formed with the waist section 2. Two

fingers 4A, 4B of one pair run down the fiont and rear of a left leg, and two fingers SA, 5B of the other pair run down the front and rear of the right leg.

Two panels of material 6A, 6B are sewn between pair of fingers 4A, 4B and two panels of material 7A, 7B are sewn between pair of fingers 5A, 5B to complete the trouser legs.

It will be seen that the trousers of the invention have a novel look to them with no seems running down either side of each trouser leg as with known trousers.

The invention may take a form different to that specifically described above. For example each leg could be made up of three or more fingers extending from the waist section and three or more panels to fit between the fingers. As is well known in the art, belt loops and a top of zip fastener could be provided on the waist section, as well as pockets for the trousers.

The waist section, fingers, and/or panels could be formed of any type of fabric, and the waist section fingers and/or panels could be of different materials and/or of different colours.

Further modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (5)

1. CLAIMS 1. A pair of trousers formed from a waist section having a plurality of fingers extending down therefrom and panels sewn between the fingers.
2. 2. A pair of trousers according to claim 1, wherein two pairs of fingers extend from the waist section.
3. 3. A pair of trousers according to claim 2, wherein two fingers of one pair run down the front and rear of a left leg, and two fingers of the other pair run down the front and rear of the right leg.
4. 4. A pair of trousers according to claim 3, wherein two panels are sewn between each pair of fingers to complete the trouser leg.
5. 5. A pair of trousers substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
