Abstract

A hammer or similar percussive tool 1 is arranged to have the centre of gravity of its head in close proximity to the striking face, this may be through the presence of an insert 4 of heavier material sealed within the head. A shaft 3 and hand grip 2 may be provided. The width of the head may remain constant or increase with increasing distance from the striking face and then decrease rapidly and may form a tongue or claw.
