Abstract

A door assembly which can be opened in two different manners so as to for example provide a conventional vertically hinged door or a horizontally hinged ramp. A door is openable relative to a frame about wither one of two axes. One axis is defined by first and second aligned hinges and the other by third and fourth aligned hinges. The second hinge is mounted to turn with the door on the third hinge. A linkage is provided selectively to disengage wither the first hinge to enable the door to turn on the third and fourth hinges or to disengage to fourth hinge to enable the door to turn on the first and second hinges.
