Abstract

Bracket and chain are two parts that work together, the chain is fixed to the door frame, and the bracket is fitted to the door. When the door is closed the chain is laid in the bracket via the clearance slot holding the chain horizontally along the bore, the protruding chain falling or placed into the locking slot. When opening the door the chain is lifted horizontally to clear or lock it anywhere along the chain The locking slot it will only take one chain link so the chain is locked.

Adjustable Door & Frame Bracket And Chain The bracket in the name above is my invention, this will enable a person to open a door from the inside of a house continually, but securely.
Chubb locksmith's agent assured me there is no ajustable door chain, my reason for the patent is more securety.
Refrance to chain The chain neads to be close linked so the metal round the bore on the bracket fits between the links without to much play. I will refer to the"Chain""Links"and clearance also"Chain" "Side"and"Length"so I will explain.
I Face 2 Side 3 Length, it will be chain before link face side or length like chain length or link side.
Refrance to the bracket The bracket is the only component that is unknown for it is my creation and the part I nead to patent for, it is the lock to the chain so you can open the door and still be secure. It allows you to lock along the chain from the chain holder where other door chains lock from the other end of chain Bracket Measurements These are controled by the chain size's the chain cleareance slot is width of chain. The chain locking slot is width of link wire.
The bore is clearance of chain links.
The bracket is machined from metal block or casting the size detered by weight of chain.
Instructions Fix chain to door frame and bracket to door. Chain will hang, close door place chain bracket in bore via chain clearance slot on bracket. When opening door the chain will lock on bracket.

Lift chain so it is strait with bore door will open, to lock drop the chain it will lock in chain locking slot.

  1. CLAIMS 1. Relates to a ajustable door chain and bracket. Door chains are securety aids for when people call. My invention allows people time ans space to make sure someone is genuine before opening the door. The unique locking system which can lock on any one link, gives securety and smooth opening. The figures 1.2. 3. on the drawing give you a view of the door closed then opening, and the chain movement

The bracket and chain locking system I have invented needs a chain long enough for normal conversation at the door the bracket and chain can be fixed to the door frame the chain is fitted in the bracket when door is closed leaving the excess chain to be placed in locking bracket the drawings show the opening movement
