Abstract

A lifter (Transporter) includes a tubular frame (A) fixed to two wheels with pneumatic tyres (F), and two support arms connected to tubular frame. To this are attached two rotatable rubber grips (C, D) that grip the container to keep it in an upright position once frame pulled back (B) for transit. Adjustable strap (E) attaches to right hand rubber grip (D) to apply tension and additional support for grips. The unit may require an additional wheel (G). For moving heavy plant pots and containers.

ORIGINAL IDEA- Container planting is becoming a popular trend amongst gardeners as a maintenance free & a more varied way of growing exotic plants & shrubs Being a single person & suffenng from Ostio-Arthritis In the spine I needed a way of moving containers around at different times of the year.
My years of working In the building industry taught me that when using a wheel barrow the load was easier to move if the weight was placed over the wheel.
The Transporter copies this in a way that the load is balanced over the wheels (F), the Transporter arms (D) will grip the container and then lift it when pulling back on the handle (B) so that the user only pushes the weight, and does not have to lift It The user will never have to lift the container, at any time that he or she uses the Transporter.
The arms gripping the container would include using a type of ball joint (C) enabling the container to swivel and be kept upright at all times, and would have some form of firm tapered rubber/silicone compound (G) with an adjustable strap or clamp (E) on the front of the arms so as to grip the container with out causing damage and eliminating any slipping.
The Wheels would be pneumatic thus allowing the Transporter to ride with reasonable ease over bumpy ground, and eliminating most jolts & jerks to the user. The wheel (G) is for stabilising only when not in use.
The main frame (A) would be of a lightweight tubular or oval steel, thus giving it strength & also keeping it reasonably light.
INVENTED FOR :- 1 THE EASY MOVING AND POSITIONING OF MEDIUM TO HEAVY SIZED GAR- DEN CONTAINERSIPLANTERS SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE IT'S CONTENTS.
2 TO ENABLE A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TO MOVE CONTAINERS WITHOUT STRAIN.
3 CONTAINERS CAN BE MOVED AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR THUS ALLOW- ING LARGE VARIETY OF PLANTS OR SHRUBS TO BE GROWN IN DIFFER- ENT SEASON'S, AND LOCATIONS IN THE GARDEN.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS 1 A Lifter including a fixed tubular frame, fixed to two wheels with pneumatic tyres.
  2. 2 A lifter as claimed in Claim 1, where two support arms are connected to the tubular frame at an equal height and distance apart and a third wheel for stabilising purposes only.
  3. 3 A lifter as claimed in Claims 1 and 2 where two rotatable rubber grips connected to the support arms.
  4. 4 A lifter as claimed in Claims 1,2 & 3 where a hinged adjustable strap located at front connected to left hand rubber grip closes to contain liftable object by attaching to right hand rubber grip.
    S A lifter as claimed in any proceeding Claim which is made from metal, plastic or rubber or a combination of all.
