Abstract
Weight 60 comprising two rods, snap piece 61 and retaining piece 65 and end caps 70 is secured to the bottom of cloth drape 50, which hangs from upper beam 40. The cloth drape is clamped between the rods as they are snapped into registration with one another. Universal rods may be made having a retaining piece at one end and a snap piece at the other.

TO THE BOTTOM OF A BLIND DRAPE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the structure of a lower swing weight secured to the bottom of a vertical type blind drape. The blind includes an upper beam, a plurality of cloth drapes, a plurality of swing weights and a plurality of covering caps. The upper beam is an elongated tube having a first adhesive buckle belt disposed at the front side thereof Each cloth drape is a vertically extended rectangular fabric piece having a second adhesive buckle belt of equal width to that the first adhesive buckle belt so that the cloth drape can be removably secured to the upper beam. Each swing weight attached to the bottom of each cloth drape is made up of a snap piece and a retaining piece that are forced into engagement with each other with the bottom of the cloth drape clamped therebetween. Each snap piece is a long rod having a central open groove and an upper retaining ditch and a lower retaining ditch. The longitudinal edges of both the upper and lower retaining ditch are provided with an outwardly bent slide engagement section. The retaining piece of the lower swing weight is a long rod of the same length as that of the snap piece. The longitudinally extended upper and lower edges of the retainmg piece are provided with an inwardly bent resilient locking section having a clamping nb extended in the longitudinal direction so as to permit the slide engagement section of the snap piece to be snapped into engagement with the receiving space defined by the resihent locking section and the clamping rib with the cloth drape clamped between the snap piece and the retaining piece with ease and speed in a precise manner.

A prior art vertical blind is equipped with an upper beam tO, a plurality of cloth drapes 20, a plurality of lower swing weights 30, a plurality of swing weights 30, a plurality of restraint plates 31 and a plurality of sealing caps 32. The upper beam 10 is of a tubular shape with the front side thereof secured to an adhesive buckle belt ! I. Each cloth drape 20 is of a vertical form of a proper wrdth with an adhesive buckle belt 21 secured to the top edge thereof. Each lower swing weight 30 is of an identical length to that of each cloth drape 20. Its cross section is of an H-like shape with a hollow interior and a partition wall 301 extends axially at the middle thereof to form a top passage room 302. At the top and bottom sides of the swing weight 30 is provided with a slot respectively. The edges of each slot are equipped with a downwardly bent retaining hook 303. The restraint plate 31 is as long as the swing weight 30. The sealing caps 32 are made m conformance to the ends of the swing weight 30 and have a retaining block 321 respectively.
As shown in Figs. 2,3, 4, the cloth drapes 20 are secured to the upper beam 10 by engaging the adhesive buckle belts 21 with the adhesive buckle belts 11 to get the cloth drapes vertically hanged. Each swing weight 30 is placed at the bottom of the cloth drape 20 whose bottom end is led through the top slot into the top passage room 302 with the restraint plate 31 located In the passage room 302. Fmally, the sealing caps 32 are registered with the ends of the swing weight 30 with the retaining blocks 321 in abutment against the retaining hooks 303 to complete the assembly.
There are several disadvantages associated with such a pnor art swing weight given as below : 1. The attachment of the swing weight to the bottom edge of the cloth drape is relatively

difficult and time consuming.
2. The swing weights are easily out of alignment with one another when attached to the cloth drapes.
3. The insertion of the restraint plate in the passage room of the swing weight can easily result in the push astray of the cloth drape.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provided a swing weight which can be easily and firmly secured to the bottom end of the cloth drape of a blind.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a swing weight which can be quickly secured to the bottom end of a cloth drape.
One further object of the present invention is to provided a swing weight which can be easily put in linear alignment with one another and the redundant cloth drape can be trimmed to make the attachment of the swing weights neat and in order.
One still further object of the present invention is to provide a swing weight which is made up of two Identical retaining pieces that can be produced by a single mold to make the production cost thereof low.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring to Fig. 5, the present invention IS comprised of an upper beam 40, a plurality of cloth drapes 50, a plurality of lower swing weights 60 and a plurality of sealing caps 70. The upper beam 40 is of a long tubular structure having on Its longitudinal side a female or male adhesive buckle belt 41. Each cloth drape 50 is of an oblong shape of a proper width and has a female or male adhesive buckle belt 51 secured at the upper edge thereof. Each mdividual lower swing weight 60 is made up of a snap piece 61 and a retaining piece 65 that are integrally snapped mto one piece. The snap piece 61 is a long rod having a central open groove 62 and an upper retaining ditch and a lower retaining ditch 63. The longitudinal edges of both the upper and lower retaming ditch 63 are provided with a slide engagement section 64. The retaining piece 65 of the lower swing weight 60 is a long rod of the same length as that of the snap piece 61. The

longitudinally extended upper and lower edges of the retaining piece 65 are provided with an inwardly bent resilient locking section 66 having a clamping rib 67 extended in the longitudinal direction. The sealing caps 70 are plates made in conformance to the shape of each end of the lower swing weights 60 and has a projected supporting block 71 at the internal surface thereof.
To get the same assembled, as shown in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, the male or female adhesive buckle belt 51 fixed to the top edge of each cloth drape 50 is engaged with the other female or male buckle belt 41 secured to the front side of the upper beam 40. The cloth drape 50 hangs naturally down. First, the snap piece 61 and the retaining piece 65 of the lower swing weight 60 are respectively disposed at the front side and the rear s1de of the cloth drape 50 and are then they are snapped mto registration with each other with force, rendering the cloth drape 50 to be clamped in place between the snap piece 61 and the retaining pieces 65. The resilient locking sections 66 of the retaining piece 65 slide into registration with the lower and upper retaining ditches 63, together with the cloth drape 50, moving along the slide engagement sections 64 of the snap piece 61. As shown in Fig. 7, the bottom section of the cloth drape 50 is forced into the space defined between the resilient locking sections 66 and the clamping ribs 67 disposed at the upper and lower edge of the retaining piece 65 Afterwards, the projected supporting blocks 71 of the sealing caps 70 are snapped into registration with the two ends of the lower swing weights 60 to complete the assembly. The lower swing weights 60 can be placed at a proper position adjacent the bottom of the cloth drape 50, and the redundant portion of the same can be tnmmed to make the cloth drape 50 flush with the edge of the lower swing weights 60.

Referring to Fig. 8, another embodiment of the present invention is illustrated.
The lower swing weight 60'is made up of two Identical retaining pieces 61'. Each retaining piece 61'is provided with an engagement rib 611'at one longitudinal edge. The engagement rib 611'terminates in a longitudinal hooking projection 612'. At the opposite edge of each retaining piece 61'is disposed a longitudinal retaining seat 613'having a locking ditch 614'which has an elongated registration groove 615'at the bottom thereof
In assembly, as shown in Fig. 9, the two identical retaining pieces 61'are placed in a reverse position, edge to edge, with respect to each other at the front and back side near the bottom of the cloth drape 50. Then, the retaining pieces 61'are forced into registration with each other with the cloth drape 50 clamped therebetween. Accordingly, the engagement nbs 611'along with the cloth drape 50 are forced mto engagement with the respective locking ditch 614'of the retaining seat 613'. At then the hooking projections 612'of the engagement nbs 611'are registered with the registration grooves 615'of the locking ditch 614'. Afterwards, the sealing caps 70'conforming to the shape of the ends of the swing weight 60'are forced into registration with the ends of the swing weights 60'by way of the projected supporting blocks 71'to complete the assembly. The redundant section of the cloth drape 50 exceeding the swing weight 60'IS trimmed flush with the same.
There are several advantages associated with the present invention given as below: 1. The swing weights 60 can be firmly attached to the bottom of the cloth drape 50 by way of the snap piece 61 and the retaining piece 65.
2. The swing weights 60 can be easily and quickly secured to the bottom of the cloth

drape 50 with its knock-down structure.
3. The snap piece 61 and the retaining piece 65 of the swing weight 60 can be integrally forced into registration with each other with easy alignment, making the outer appearance of the whole structure appealing to eyes.
4. The redundant section of the cloth drape 50 can be trimmed to make the cloth drape 50 flush with the bottom of the swing weights 60.
5. The swing weights 60'made up of two identical retaining pieces 61'can be simply produced by one mold to make the production cost economic.
Claims (3)
1. A lower swing weight secured to the bottom of a drape type blind, wherein said blind includes an upper beam, a plurality of cloth drapes, a pturahty of swmg weightS, a plurality of sealing caps, said upper beam is of a long tubular structure having on its longitudinal side a female or male adhesive buckle belt, said cloth drape is of an oblong shape of a proper width and has a female or male adhesive buckle belt secured at the upper edge thereof so as to permit said cloth drapes to be removably attached to said upper beam; said lower swing weight is removably secured to the bottom of said cloth drape; wherem said lower swing weight is made up of a snap piece and a retaining piece that are respectively located in alignment at a bottom edge of said cloth drape and integrally snapped into one piece with the bottom of said cloth drape clamped therebetween whereby said lower swing weight can be easily, quickly secured In flush to the bottom of each said cloth drape.
2. The lower swing weight as claimed in claim 1 wherein said snap piece is a long rod having a central open groove and an upper retaining ditch and a lower retammg ditch ; longitudinal edges of both said upper and lower retaining ditch are provided with a slide engagement section ; said retaining piece of said lower swing weight is a long rod of the same length as that of said snap piece, a longitudinally extended upper and lower edge of said retaining piece are provided with an inwardly bent resihent locking section havmg a clamping rib extended in a longitudinal direction ; said sealing caps are plates made in

conformance to the shape of each end of the lower swing weights and has a projected supporting block at the internal surface thereof so as to permit the same to be removed registered with ends of said swing weights.
3. The lower swing weight as claimed in claim 1 wherein said snap piece and said retaining piece are made identically in structure to obtain two retaining pieces ; each retaining piece is provided with an engagement rib at one longitudinal edge thereof and said engagement rib terminates in a longitudinal hooking projection ; at an opposite edge of each retaining piece is disposed a longitudinal retaining seat having a locking ditch which has an elongated registration groove at the bottom thereof
