Abstract

A liquid applicator has a liquid container f. A liquid g is dispensed through an orifice a3 onto an absorbent roller d which is suspended from a holder a via a bolt mechanism e, j. Liquid g is pressurised by gravity (figure 3) or hand pressure applied by squeezing (figure 4) so that it passes onto roller d. The amount of liquid passing is determined by way of the size of orifice a3 and the liquid viscosity. The liquid absorbed by the roller is then transferred through a rolling motion of roller d onto the receiving surface. In other embodiments, liquid g maybe delivered directly to the outer surface of roller d or via a pipe to a hollow interior of roller d (figure 6). There may be two rollers mounted on the applicator (figure 5). A doctoring blade or scraper may be mounted on the applicator (figure 8). There may be a pressure mechanism (figure 5).
