Endless chain and like carriers, apparatus with; prisms and like elements, rotating.-Apparatus for changeably exhibiting pictures, advertisements, &c. comprises two endless chains a between laterally extending links b of which are suspended elements c bearing parts of the designs, which form a complete whole on the two front elements 1, 1 viewed through a window. The chains a are carried on sprocket wheels e having preferably two teeth only. One of the wheels e is intermittently rotated through a complete revolution by Geneva stop mechanism, in which four radial slots in a star-wheel are in turn engaged by pins or projections h on a constantly moving endless band i, suitably slotted to accommodate the star-wheel. The elements 2, 2 thus succeed the elements 1, 1 in the display plane d. The elements may have holes or downwardly extending fittings to receive hooks j pivoting on pins k on the links b. The hooks j may engage the elements slightly above their middle and be sufficiently long to allow the element to be guided by side ledges l during its descent in a plane not far forward of its display position. Springs m may bear on pins on the links b to hold the links upright. A number of devices as above described mav be located above one another, each being provided with Geneva stop mechanism or geared together, their elements co-operating to form a single picture &c. The casing containing the device may be rotated about a vertical axis, at intervals, through 180‹, to expose designs on the backs of the elements through a rear window. The rotation is effected by Geneva-stop mechanism actuated by pins on a disc or endless band driven by an electric motor.
