Abstract

The drainage tray includes a base tray 1 which has preformed knockout connecting tabs 4 that fit flush into recesses 5 for in line connection. Preformed knockout waste pipe outlets 7 are for pipe connection by other means. The perforated intermediate tray 2 sits onto the base tray 1 by means of rebated shoulders 8 and diagonal struts 6. The non-slip mat 3 sits inside the intermediate tray 2. Both non-slip mat and intermediate tray can be removed for access and maintenance.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
NON-SLIP INLAID FOAM/RUBBER POOLSIDE SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE TRAY Around the perimeter of swimming pools, drainage channel is commonplace. The channel is able to discharge escaping water from the pool back into the drainage or filter system.
Channel drainage, however, is not efficient in dealing with casual lying water deposited by bathers around the glazed tiled walkways of the pool. This is most hazardous to bare-foot pedestrians.
According to the present invention there is provided a non-slip inlaid foam/rubber poolside surface water drainage tray that consists of three components. A base tray, which has means of drainage outlets, supporting struts and preformed knockout connecting tabs, a perforated intermediate tray and an inlaid non-slip mat.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which :- Fig. 1 shows in perspective the drainage tray and its possible position around a pool.
Fig. 2 illustrates the fully assembled drainage tray cut away by section to expose key components.
Fig. 3 shows a cross-sectional view, which illustrates the component assembly and application of the connecting taps.
Referring to the drawings, the drainage tray consists of a base tray 1, secured into the surrounding sub floor by ribbed building ties or similar means (not shown). An intermediate tray 2 and an inlaid non-slip porous mat 3.
In order to connect the trays together, either in line or a grid pattern Fig 1, pre-formed knockout connecting tabs 4 can be dropped down and fixed into the recess of the base 5 enabling water flow. The redundant tab 4 can be removed as illustrated in Fig 2.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
The intermediate tray 2 is supported in the base of tray I by means of a rebated shoulder 8, and bridged diagonal struts 6. The base tray I also has pre-formed knockout drain outlets 7 to enable connection by other means to the drainage or filter system pipework.
The inlaid non-slip mat 3 sits inside the intermediate tray 2 as shown in Fig. 3.
Other than the base tray 1, the non-slip mat and intermediate tray are completely removable to allow for access and maintenance.

Claims (8)
