Abstract

237,429. Coward, E. S. July 29, 1924. Axles and axle structures.-A collar 33 fixed on the end of the axle casing of a " Ford " vehicle which end projects within the brake drum, has projections 35 for engaging webs 36 on the brake shoes 11, 12 to prevent lateral displacement of the shoes and has also a flange which abuts against a ring secured to the axle to prevent the outer part of the axle carrying the wheel from sliding out of the casing in the event of breakage of the axle at a point within the casing.
